I seem to have forgotten to give showbots a walker bonus.

Walkers in the showbot class get 42 points.

Replaced Libra with Q-Bee in the showbots sign-ups.

May or may not resemble the Darkstalkers character. :v:

I wouldn't mind trying to make a walker or shuffler myself sometime, actually. I've given tracks a go, so why not?

TBR, how many wheels does Le Mans have? It doesn't say in the description, nor can I tell by looking at the pictures.

I should go 3-1 this week but it'll probably be something like 0-4 or 0-5.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

This might be responding by Reflex, but I personally think she's Acute one if you look at her from the Right Angle. Apologies if I'm coming off as needlessly Obtuse, but I'll try to get Straight to the point next time I talk to Angles. :v:

You just need to specify how much weapon your flipper has, and how much your srimech has. Look at The Servant's Assistant 3 for an example of how it's supposed to be.

Before the start of the tournament there is a rule I'd like to clarify; the parabolic trajectory rule. Armor bonuses are done by stating a piece of armor that you want to give a bonus to, and subtracting that value from the rest of the robot. I previously entered Parabolic Trajectory in a tournament (yes, just the one) giving an armor bonus to both of the front hinged wedges. This was challenged and, being a dickhead I replied that the hinged wedges were connected at some point. Of course, this had to be accepted - because why not?

The armor bonus rule can be a little weird if this is held to be true. For example, on Automaton if I gave the armor bonus to just his teeth, that would mean that each tooth counts individually and that the result being that 5 armor is subtracted from the rest of the robot. This doesn't make sense. The teeth are small enough that they should require such a huge change in armor value from the rest of the robot. The whole concept behind this was that you took weight away from other places on the robot, and stuck it on the front for extra armor.

So you get something like Parabolic Trajectory, where the wedges being connected - and therefore heavier - requires less armor being redistributed than if it had two individually hinged wedges. This clearly doesn't make sense.

However, there is a problem where allowing separate pieces to receive armor bonuses without detracting from the main armor can be abused. Hopefully the caveat that whatever receiving the bonus needs to be on the same side combats this somewhat (so if parabolic trajectory put one of its hinged wedges on its back, then it would count individually), along with the 33% armor rule.

Thoughts?

To be fair, when you said the wedges were connected, it was insisted that you prove they were actually connected since from the original render you provided there was no way of verifying that. :v:

What difference would that make though? If I said they were connected, why would I have to 'prove' that? Its obvious they could be made to be connected. I mean, I'm the one with the CAD file so I could always just alter it if need be, since the descriptor is the only important part. In any case, it doesn't make sense that a single 'connected' wedge would detract LESS armor than two separate wedges even though the single wedge would clearly weigh more.

Yes you could "alter" it, and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you did.

The point is you had to prove that having the wedges connected was actually physically possible. It's no different from that time Paul demanded you prove that Tank's wedges were hinged since the CAD you entered seemed to clearly contradict that idea. The CAD and the description have to reasonably match up with each other.

It's been awhile since the armor bonus rule was added, but I believe it was partially to prevent bots from sticking a whole bunch of junk in front of their bots (like Sanitation Engineer for instance) and saying "+2 armor to front" and basically making them invincible to spinners. In fact, I recall that I ended up having to redact an armor bonus I was going to give to Final Boss (back in the first or second season of this rule) since I was informed that each skirt would be considered separately.

It also helped to give a reason to using a solid wedge instead of several smaller Underall style wedges. Underall wedges would generally be better at getting under stuff, but you couldn't protect them as well as a solid wedge.
