Green Dragon vs. Jackal

I've got many difference modes of attack here so hopefully I can find something that works well...

I will start off the match by keeping my lifter and wings down, move close to Jackal, and then start thwacking when he gets close. His sides aren't completely flat, but flat enough to smack him hard when he approaches. With my lifter and wings down, I actually act as a double-sided thwack, so it'll be harder for him to get under me and lift/clamp. I'll keep thwacking for a little while, assuming he's getting foiled...

After a bit (or if thwacking just isn't working), I'll try to wedge under him with lifter, slide under his lifting plate, and prop him up using my lifter. If I get him lifted, I'll have at least half of his wheels lifted, so I'll be able to push him. I plan to slam him into the wall - hold him there and maybe take him to one of the hazards if I still retain control of him. My hazard of choice would be either drums or hammers. If I get him flipped (either with the lifter or by pushing him to the drum), he won't have any wedge effectiveness. Therefore, flipping him would be AWESOME. If I do that, I'll just be able to wedge under him and toss him around easily the rest of the match (making sure not to flip him back over). He says he can self-right, but I'm not sure. It seems like it might be tricky.

If he flips me, I'll try thwacking again and see if I'm low enough to still deliver blows to his armor. If I'm too high to get decent hits, I'll rotate my lifter to the ground, and try to wedge under him that way.

While flipping me would definitely hinder my offense here, I doubt his lifter would have enough force to fully invert me. Plus, I doubt he'd be able to double up with the clamp since I'll thwack him if he tries to do that. Clampbots definitely don't like bots that can thwack, and I plan to foil any attempt he does to clamp.

Good luck!

Very interesting design to fight in Green Dragon here, but hopefully there's a few things I should be able to exploit and come out on top with, here.
The Desolation of Ddraig Werdd, anyone? :P

Analysis
All right, he's a pretty unusual. Like me, he can lift and clamp, but he's also got that springy tail at the back as well- matches me for speed, has good armour, and he's got a big variety of attacking options, so I'll need to be on my game to see what he tries each time.

Fortunately though- as versatile as he is, I've still got a few things on my side, in terms of both our stats and designs. Whilst he does match me for speed, he's got worse traction (Ergo, somewhat slippier control and lower stability, particularly with his 2WD.) and Torque- the lesser pushability compared to Jackal is a big weakness, considering clamps like him do rely on it to push opponents around, and I'll be able to shove back against him if he does try to get me.
In terms of his design- first and foremost, those multidirectional wing thingies next to his clamp nerf his Weapon Power down to 3, which'll make him decent enough for lifting, but it's not really enough for a clamp, so it'll take time to work and have weak grip, so it shouldn't be too difficult to escape from either way. I can self-right quickly too, so it's just a matter of moving to a safe spot as I do so if he does turn me over- which hopefully he shouldn't do. My thick armour and sloped chassis (About 45 degree angles on the sides with the skirts.) will make it very difficult for his springy tail to damage me as well- it'd just glance upwards when it hit rather than smashing through.

Strategy
Pegs ON.

So anyway, let's see if we can slay the dragon here. Move out quickly, keep the Lifting Plate pressed down, watch to see how he approaches, and try to get him from the sides or front corners- according to the pictures, the wings are just off the ground, so I'll be able to slide under him from there. Once I'm underneath, shove him into the wall and flip him over, and if he tries to thwack- be assertive, force my way past the tail as he spins, and attack him the same way as stated prior once I've got him. I've lost against thwackers by not being aggressive enough for when they spin, so none of that crap this time.

Once I've caught him, aggression, aggression, aggression. Flip him over once at first to nullify his main weapons, and from there prioritise using my torque, my superior traction, and my top bar to get him from around the sides/corners, and from there do all the damage I need. Try clamping him first using my wedge and top bar, and use that to ram him into nearby spike strips and hazards. If clamping doesn't work, use the pegs to push him and the top bar as a hammer to deal that little bit of extra damage whilst I shove him around.
With regards to hazards, particularly focus on boxing him into the corners where the Pulverisers are to give him a thumping headache, and holding him above the Killsaws to rip up those big exposed pneumatic tyres- after all, if it worked for TSA3 back in LORE, there's no reason why it shouldn't for me. If I can clamp him head-on as well, try feeding his back end into the Drum with a good run-up to damage or potentially even rip off the tail.

My defence mostly comes down to keeping a close eye on how he attacks, and countering accordingly. When I'm not underneath him, keep the Lifter pressed down as I approach him, keep constantly moving and unpredictable, come at him from different angles each time to always keep him guessing, and try not to come at him directly from the front- always keep at least one wedged side facing him.
On the other hand- if he tries to thwack me, I've already established that it'll be incredibly hard for him to effectively damage me by doing so due to the tail deflecting up my wedged sides, so employ aggressive defence when he spins- go straight at him, barge past the tail, and I can start attacking him directly.
Keep a good birth from the hazards unless I'm taking him to them myself, don't fall for any cheap hazard-baiting tactics, and if he flips me (But hopefully he shouldn't do.), move to a safe distance using my invertability, turn so that my rear scoop is facing him, and flip myself back over using my top bar. By doing it this way, I'll be facing him when I recover, and thus can attack him immediately after. If this doesn't work for whatever reason, lift my plate up (Down, from a right-way-up perspective) and drive into the Drum to kick myself back over with minimal damage.

Overall, I'll want to be as resourceful, controlled and aggressive in my approaches as I can. Don't give him any opportunities to clamp or lift, barge through him if he tries to thwack me, and once I've got him- first nullify his weapons by turning him over, and use both the environment and my own weaponry to gradually break him down.
We're both pretty hardy machines, so a KO from either party looks unlikely, but I'd love to beat him on Damage/Aggression and Strategy.

Anyway, hoping this'll be enough to allow me to do that. Good luck Area 51, let's see what you've got.
