Team Blood Gulch Motto

-Now this one is going to be very interesting. He's got a hell of a hammer/lifter combo there, but I have him beat +2 in both drive stats and I out Torque him too boot. His main body armor (outside of the plow/lifter and hammer) is rather low so he'll actually take some measurable damage any time I flip him. -From a hammer range perspective I don't think it really matters if he leads with the plow side or not, it looks pretty equal both ways. All things considered though I may actually prefer him leading with the plow side and I'll tell you why. First, while he can push that lifer into the ground for added leverage, it's a pretty universally accepted fact that doing so usually compromises your drive to a degree (added friction making turning a bit more difficult and such) and since he's already lagging behind in the drive conversation it'll probably be more of a hindrance than a help. Secondly, it's a wider base. Now ordinarily that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing, but if he is going to press the lifter into the ground then my higher speed to angle in on the outside of the plow. Getting around to it's flat corner should allow me to get underneath. And since it's wider it puts me further away from his hammer's attack area! -So if I can get under him like this then from his perspective he has a couple possible options. 1. back away, but with his lower speed, that probably wouldn't work. 2. raise the lifter. Sure that removes me being under him for the moment, but I can just continue driving forward and reach his main body. 3. Attempt to drive overtop of me. not a bad idea, but if I see this happening I'll just fire the flipper and send him off on his way. -If I'm in a good position to push him, try and drive him over to the hazards, ideally the hammers and flip him into them. Keep an eye on him and wedge him/flip him again when he tries to drive away. Pile on the abuse and try to get damage on his 4 armor chassis. -If he starts with the other wedge side, my general gameplan will be the same. The only real differences would be that it would be easier to get under him, but it would be more likely that I may have to take a hit from the hammer. In any situation where I have him wedge, but am in danger of hammer hits, just flip him immediately. Impact damage from the flip is still a good outcome and it save me taking unnecessary damage myself. -If he looks like he going to try and drive over me (basically telegraphing it by raising the lifter or something I should say) , be ready and just focus on keeping the flipper pointed directly at him so he can't try to drive over a corner. Again my higher speed should be a big help in doing that. Also, my actual hinges on my skirts would keep him from having a smooth up and over anyway (and possibly keep him from sliding completely up and over me when I wedge him). -My armor's good enough that if I need to take a couple hits from the hammer the +2 advantage it has wouldn't wreck me, but I really want to limit his chances for offense for obvious reasons. The idea will be to flip him a bunch of times and try to use the hazards if at all practical. If he ends up behind me at any point, I can drive in reverse and use my flipper as front-flipper of sorts until I can do an about-face and get my front facing him again. Plus driving in reverse at him may catch him off guard anyway in such a situation. Good Luck! |

I've never lived by anyone's rules but my own.

-I have the leverage advantage with my front wedge having more weight on it. He's faster sure, but this is what counts. -I just have to make sure he doesn't sweet spot that lifter on the gap in the center of my front plow. Just approach at a slight angle, and this should be fine. -If my wedge gets under, the rear wheels on FB still won't touch the ground. So the plan will be to bench him on my plow, push him to the wall and hold him there, and just wail on him while I'm holding him there, for the full 30 seconds. I also want to try to get under, push him to the killsaws, and then hit him as he's getting hit by the killsaws. The combined effect of the axe and the saws may do some damage he can't shrug off. Basically I want to own the damage category in this fight, and own aggression as well due to taking control for long periods of time when I get under. I'm not too concerned about damage from his flipper. It's only 5 power. It's not going to be flipping bots like Toro with that kind of statting. My lifter is much more powerful, and it did nothing to damage Fulcrum--a robot that had only 5 internal armor. Good Luck -N |
