All righty then, I've got my first fight with Lian- and it's an interesting design in Curse of the Deep. Let's take a look... Analysis I will use the Armoured Scoop for this fight. First thing to notice about this one is its weaponry- both a Ring and a Turret Axe are quite a vicious combination, so I'll need to pay attention to where the latter in particular is aiming for. Good protection along the sides too, so it's a good example of a damage-soaking tank when fought from the outside. However, it's got its faults. Also like a Tank, it's very slow- and unlike a Tank, it just doesn't have the Traction or Torque to make up for it. Lacks internal Armour as well, so I feel that it focusses a lot on weaponry, but not enough on the other aspects. On the other hand, I've got my powerful drive- I'm a lot faster and grippier than he is, and I've got the sufficient protection to get past his defences- good armour/torque, my Anti-Hammer Cushioned Lid to help soak up the impacts from his axe blows, and my thick Scoop on the front. Strategy So anyway, game on. Move out quickly, keep the Scoop pressed down, and focus predominantly on stopping him from spinning up to begin with. Don't just blindly fling myself at him, though- that's just asking for him to counterattack. Approach at an angle that'll prevent his Axe from hitting me if I can, and watch for if he tries to move away- in which case, use my speed to chase him down and force him to crash. Once I've stopped the initial blow, begin lifting and force him into the nearest wall. From there, focus on keeping him on his back and/or underneath him with my Scoop to prevent him from spinning up or bringing the Axe into play. Flip and shunt him about with my Scoop and Torque as much as I possibly can, and take intervals to push him onto the traps- use the Scoop to pin him down on top of the Flame/CO2 Jets to induce Thermal Shock, or to deposit him upside-down onto the Floor Flippers. By doing this, he'll be catapulted as he tries to self-right, suffering damage as he lands and allowing me to quickly get back to him and continue attacking him. With his low armour value, there's a good chance a big flip or two could cause him to break down. Aggressive Defence will be something to consider, here. Stick close by at all times, always keep the Scoop (Or the Rear Wedge if he does end up behind me) facing him, and keep underneath and flipping him around with it as much as I possibly can. Otherwise- approach at different angles each time if we do end up separated to prevent him getting accurate hits with the Axe, keep moving, and keep away from the hazards when I'm not taking him to them myself. Basically- both of his weapons are powerful, but can both be nullified by a well-armed Flipper or Lifter, so play that to my advantage and use that and his neglect to his other attributes against him. Be aggressive and controlling throughout by keeping him upside-down and/or on the defence as much as I possibly can, and above all- don't let up, and don't give him any chances to bring the weapons into play. If it all goes to plan, I should hopefully be able to KO him on internal damage from the repeated flipping or getting him to waste his Axe's power supply with constant self-righting. Alternatively, the decision on Aggression and Strategy would be good, too. In any case, good luck Lian- let's see what this new design of yours can do.
