I should go 3-1 this week but it'll probably be something like 0-4 or 0-5.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Ugh, you know what I mean.
No, I don't think we do. Lower traction? Then you could basically write off Luna's championship. :P

It was basically their high-powered weapons coming into contact with each other so often that the weapons died out. There was no avoiding that, considering both robots had 360-degree attack range, and huge weapon power while neither had too much of a weapon advantage over the other. That left Frequency free to use its wedge.

I don't know how you interpreted it the way you did, but whatever you're smoking to have thought of that, I want some. :P
With the first statement, I was referring to the "Don't count me out" bit.

But all I'm saying is that due to being able to better stick in place and get to Frequency's exposed bits, and having big metal teeth as opposed to those little Spikes, it was that maybe I'd fare a bit better if I'm lucky- particularly considering that I've come up with a bit of a plan that takes my design into account, and should take out his bar faster if it works.

Nope, just depends on the type of design you're fighting I suppose. Small teeth work well for causing heavy shredding damage, but I guess they don't fare so well against other spinners due to their range and general lack of kinetic energy.

Also, "huge chunks of scrap metal"? I'll have you know those teeth are custom-tooled. :P

WEEK 9

LW:

Mobile Failure vs. Smoke and Mirrors - (Casino Night Zone)

This is a cool match-up. I think Smoke and Mirrors could actually take this one since MF has a static hammer.

Smoke and Mirrors-65%

Old Soul vs. Jupiter 2 F - (Lumina Cloth)

lolno. This is just comedy. The flipper takes the advantage.

Jupiter 2F-80%

Hit 'em Hardest vs. Mercenary - (Land of Confusion)

This would be a tough call, but instead it’ll be a FF. I’d still give an edge to Merc overall though.

Mercenary-70%

Mr. Not Very Nice LW vs. Fatality - (ARC Arena)

Meet Fatality, surprise playoff contender!

Fatality-60%

Recovered vs. Spike - (Casino Night Zone)

If Recovered can stay alive, he can take this one. But that’ll be no small task.

Recovered-55%

Dr. Pepperdine vs. Poison - (Lumina Cloth)

A Cloth match that might not end in a ring out… oh who am I kidding, Pepperdine has a wedge.

Dr. Pepperdine-95%

Don't Tread On Me vs. Tornendron - (Land of Confusion)

Heavy duty brick against a steadfast spinner. The arena should prove the difference maker here.

Tornendron-75%

Vipoz vs. Scarab - (ARC Arena)

Scarab continues to run away with the #1 seed.

Scarab-95%

Annoying Box Rush vs. Frequency - (Casino Night Zone)

Now this should be fun. The added hazards should tip the scales to the favor of ABR

Annoying Box Rush-70%

MW:

Green Dragon vs. Solve et Coagula - (Lumina Cloth)

Clamp on clamp on Cloth! Solve does have that impressive torque, but is well outclassed in wedge.

Green Dragon-70%

Force Feedback vs. Jupiter 2 H - (Land of Confusion)

Not even Land of Confusion can help Jupiter here.

Force Feedback-95%

Braveheart vs. Reaper - (ARC Arena)

Not very much good going on for Reaper.

Braveheart-80%

Stingray vs. V For Vendetta - (Casino Night Zone)

Poor lewis.

Stingray-75%

Illusion of Grandeur vs. Fidchell - (Lumina Cloth)

This could be a match for Illusion to salvage something, but Fidchell does have that backup wedge…

Fidchell-65%

March or Die vs. Merry Hampton BR - (Land of Confusion)

If March can flip Merry Hampton over he’ll dominate, but the trick will be getting it done.

March or Die-70%

Lightning vs. The Green Hornet - (ARC Arena)

Lighting ain’t striking this bug.

The Green Hornet-95%

Lyra vs. Long Arm of the Law - (Casino Night Zone)

Two different styles of punchers, but this week I think the law may not apply to cartoon characters.

Lyra-60%

Bad Wolf vs. The "No" Patrol - (Lumina Cloth)

Bad Wolf has the better wedge. Cause I guess that’s all that really matters on this godforsaken arena.

Bad Wolf-80%

HW:

Jupiter 2 V vs. Mr. Death - (Land of Confusion)

Surprisingly this would go to the rammer, but mostly cause Jupiter is doomed once flipped.

Mr. Death-90%

Master of Puppets vs. NB2 - (ARC Arena)

Master of Puppets will MoP him up.

Master of Puppets-75%

Kraze vs. Ridley - (Casino Night Zone)

A good arena for Kraze, but he’ll be hard pressed to survive the vicious onslaught.

Ridley-65%

Scoop vs. The Dark Side of Cupid - (Lumina Cloth)

The arena could be somewhat problematic, but I’ll trust Cupid to pull it off.

Dark Side of Cupid-65%

Cutie Honey vs. Grave Robber - (Land of Confusion)

The arena gives Grave Robber a chance, but the axel issue makes it hard to trust him.

Cutie Honey-70%

Final Judgement vs. Vertigo - (ARC Arena)

Vertigo would be great in this one.

Vertigo-75%

Anarchy vs. Klarinette - (Casino Night Zone)

Klarinette can absorb the hits well enough to bully Anarchy into the hazards.

Klarinette-80%

V'Ger vs. Snijmachine - (Lumina Cloth)

Two of the biggest juggernaughts of HW collide, I’m feeling V’Ger will take this one in an upset though.

V’Ger-55%

S.O.T.A.R. vs. Dead Ringer For Love - (Land of Confusion)

SOTAR is a more solidly built spinner.

SOTAR-70%

SHW:

Ultima vs. Lime-y - (ARC Arena)

Kind an interesting fight. Give me Lime-y.

Lime-y-65%

Steak vs. Inflammatory Slammer - (Casino Night Zone)

Wow… This should be Slammer’s, but he’s going to lose by FF.

Inflammatory Slammer-95%

Phantasmic Slammer vs. Peppernut - (Lumina Cloth)

Wow, well I suppose I’ll say Peppernut.

Peppernut-60%

Manta vs. Reflector Shield - (Land of Confusion)

Hmm, this will be pretty boring actually since there’s not much for them to do other than slam each other around. Maybe the flipper could make a difference but Shield should be more aggressive.

Reflector Shield-70%

Teresa vs. Jupiter 2 P - (ARC Arena)

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing your soon to be 2 time undefeated champion… Teresa! (Nya nya, ya like that Kody? :P)

Spaulding vs. Curse of the Deep - (Casino Night Zone)

Good grief. Well if Spaulding can survive… but yeah probably not.

Curse of the Deep-75%

Corrupted Politician vs. Jack Frost - (Lumina Cloth)

This arena is definitely not Frost’s friend, but he’ll be hungry for blood after two straight losses.

Jack Frost-65%

Hephaestus vs. Lethal Injection - (Land of Confusion)

This could be bad for the undefeated SHW bot.

Hephaestus-55%

Reaver vs. Element of Chaos - (ARC Arena)

All Reaver all day.

Reaver-95%

3 Prospective Wins, and one potentially very close fight? That's good- you could certainly be doing worse. I think with Hephaestus however, I might be able to beat him if I bring Lethal Injection's new Armoured Scoop into play- it was designed for taking on powerful spinners like his. It's very thick and mounted just off the body for good protection against his weapon, and it should hopefully get under him well due to him not being an undercutter.

So do you have to question every spread that you don't agree on? It's like every time someone predicts against you, you have to explain to them that they're incorrect.

They're opinions dude, don't take them so personally.

Don't worry, I'm not taking it personally. I'm well aware that it could go either way, but I was just mentioning that I might be able to win as well if I'm able to make good use of the Scoop and my drive advantages.

And with THAT, I'll get my own up:

WEEK 9

Lightweights

Mobile Failure vs. Smoke and Mirrors

Not seeing it.

Smoke and Mirrors = 70%

Old Soul vs. Jupiter 2 F

lolwtf. well it's Cloth...

Jupiter 2 F = 70%

Hit 'em Hardest vs. Mercenary

Wouldn't be easy to predict if Lewis were RPing. Despite that... this goes to Mercenary.

Mercenary = 55%

Mr. Not Very Nice LW vs. Fatality

Thor's hockey puck to win.

Fatality = 70%

Recovered vs. Spike

I dunno, I think Spike can salvage this one. Hell, a KO is likely with that insane weapon-to-armour disparity.

Spike = 80%

Dr. Pepperdine vs. Poison

Well shit. I think Poison could throw him out if Pepperdine doesn't axe the shit out of him first.

Poison = 55%

Don't Tread On Me vs. Tornedron

DToM has to make like a Mercenary here. That's some decent armour but GF can put the hurt on him.

Don't Tread On Me = 70%

Vipoz vs. Scarab

Boo, I wanted a KO. :P *greedy*

Scarab = 95%

Annoying Box Rush vs. Frequency

Oh. My. Dog. I think ABR will get his revenge from the first Ruination.

Annoying Box Rush = 60%

Middleweights

Green Dragon vs. Solve et Coagula

Chris has this around his pinky finger.

Green Dragon = 90%

Force Feedback vs. Jupiter 2 H

Haha, uh, no.

Force Feedback = 95%

Braveheart vs. Reaper

Braveheart? The most Scottish robot? Don't make me bring SteveMcG back here to contest that! :P

Braveheart = 95%

Stingray vs. V For Vendetta

Lewis just might have a vendetta against everyone when he comes back and sees all these FFs. :P

Stingray = 85%

Illusion of Grandeur vs. Fidchell

Neither are great in the drivetrain category. So either IoG will take advantage of Fid's lower armour, or Fid will dump IoG out with the rear wedge. Considering Fid is better controlled, inclined to go with her.

Fidchell = 75%

March or Die vs. Merry Hampton BR

Yeah playzooki should have this. Merry Hampton just doesn't work great inverted.

March or Die = 80%

Lightning vs. The Green Hornet

Now if this were the swatsika Lightning, I'd give Josh more grief. But no way. :P

The Green Hornet = 100% (lock)

Lyra vs. Long Arm of the Law

Lyra just edges this.

Lyra = 51%

Bad Wolf vs. The "No" Patrol

I dunno. "No" Patrol has a lot of weapon, and Bad Wolf has 5 armour and only 1 torque. He loses that front skirt and there goes any chance he has of pushing "No" Patrol out.

The "No" Patrol = 80%

Heavyweights

Jupiter 2 V vs. Mr. Death

A FF win for playzooki and a dominating performance by him otherwise. Too bad Death's eliminated.

Mr. Death = 85%

Master of Puppets vs. NB2

if helloface comes back and replies to that travesty of an RP of yours GF, don't expect sympathy. :P

Master of Puppets = 85%

Kraze vs. Ridley

Man Kraze sucks against spinners this tournament. :( The arena won't matter too too much.

Ridley = 85%

Scoop vs. The Dark Side of Cupid

Scoop would have this if Rooster RP'd... and well. Or maybe not. Who knows?

Scoop = 51%

Cutie Honey vs. Grave Robber

If Grave Robber was a more solidly built spinner I would give this to him. As it is, he's going to give at most a few hits before he kills his own weapon.

Cutie Honey = 75%

Final Judgement vs. Vertigo

Don't look up!

Vertigo = 85%

Anarchy vs. Klarinette

Anarchy is just too slow and pinball-y to gain ground here. Klarinette marches onward.

Klarinette = 85%

V'Ger vs. Snijmachine

Well shit. Both actually have decent armour, but neither are going to be able to get the other out so it'll come down to can actually outdamage who. I feel it being pulled towards V'Ger.

V'Ger = 55%

S.O.T.A.R. vs. Dead Ringer For Love

Yeah I don't see Dead Ringer surviving too long.

S.O.T.A.R. = 75%

Superheavyweights

Ultima vs. Lime-y

Ultima's worse drivetrain to hurt it here. Watch it be flipped around without mercy.

Lime-y = 75%

Steak vs. Inflammatory Slammer

It's painful to see Inf. Slammer get eliminated, but them's the breaks. :(

Inflammatory Slammer = 90%

Phantasmic Slammer vs. Peppernut

Soooo... what matters more? Slammer's better wedge and control, or Peppernut's greater torque and speed? Probably Peppernut's advantages.

Peppernut = 55%

Manta vs. Reflector Shield

Reflector Shield will remove the plow and pwn.

Reflector Shield = 80%

Teresa vs. Jupiter 2 P

Can I substitute Jupiter 2 P for Final Boss? I've been meaning to have a few words with him.

Teresa = 100% (lock)

Spaulding vs. Curse of the Deep

BE CUUUUUURSED!

Curse of the Deep = 85%

Corrupted Politician vs. Jack Frost

Corrupted Politician still has 1 fucking point of torque. If Jack Frost messes that front end up enough, it's light out for playzooki.

Jack Frost = 75%

Hephaestus vs. Lethal Injection

It's Land of Confusion. It'll be a war of attrition that should favor Hephaestus.

Hephaestus = 65%

Reaver vs. Element of Chaos

Reaver to strengthen its already iron grip on a play-off spot.

Reaver = 100% (lock)

WEEK 10:

LW:

Spike vs. Vipoz - (ARC Arena)

All aboard the pain train!

Spike-95%

Hit 'em Hardest vs. Scarab - (Lumina Cloth)

This would be tough match for the thwacker, but being on Cloth means he’d just need to find a way to survive long enough to push Scarab out. Sounds so simple right?

Scarab-60%

Dr. Pepperdine vs. Recovered - (Casino Night Zone)

This should be a hard hitting fight. I think Recovered might be able to exploit the hazards a bit more and that could swing the balance away from Pepperdine’s own hammer.

Recovered-55%

Mr. Not Very Nice LW vs. Tornedron - (Land of Confusion)

I’d figure on ABR being able to avoid the hammer enough and control most of the fight.

Annoying Box Rush-70%

Mercenary vs. Poison - (Lumina Cloth)

Someone’s getting tossed out. No points for guessing who.

Mercenary-90%

Fatality vs. Don't Tread On Me - (Casino Night Zone)

I’m not sure raw power will be enough here. At least Fatality will do his best Sonic Spinball impression.

Don’t Tread On Me-75%

Smoke and Mirrors vs. Jupiter 2 F - (Land of Confusion)

This would be a fairly dull fight. Jupiter could get some flips in, but the cluster bot should win the day.

Smoke and Mirrors-75%

Frequency vs. Old Soul - (ARC Arena)

Not seeing much hope for Old Soul.

Frequency-85%

MW:

Fidchell vs. Jupiter 2 H - (Lumina Cloth)

Even if Jupiter somehow survived Fidchell’s disc it would still just get pushed off.

Fidchell-95%

Illusion of Grandeur vs. March or Die - (Casino Night Zone)

I’m thinking a KO one way or the other, but I’ll say the wedgebot survives.

March or Die-60%

Green Dragon vs. The "No" Patrol - (Land of Confusion)

No Patrol showed some signs of life, but it’s back to the L column I fear.

Green Dragon-80%

Reaper vs. Long Arm of the Law - (ARC Arena)

Even the Reaper can’t escape the Long Arm of the Law.

Long Arm of the Law-75%

Solve et Coagula vs. Stingray - (Lumina Cloth)

In theory SeC’s torque could help out a bunch here. My theory however is Stingray making short work of him.

Stingray-85%

Braveheart vs. Lyra - (Casino Night Zone)

It’s a tough wedgebot battle. Who will triump: the pride of Scotland or the pride of… erm… uhhh… wherever…

Braveheart-65%

Lightning vs. Force Feedback - (Land of Confusion)

It almost be worth having Lightning show up just to see this epic pwning.

Force Feedback-95%

Bad Wolf vs. Merry Hampton BR - (ARC Arena)

Bad Wolf will need a lot of help from his wedge because his disc isn’t doing jack shit here.

Merry Hampton-80%

The Green Hornet vs. V For Vendetta - (Lumina Cloth)

The saving grace for V would be the arena, if he can live long enough to push Hornet out.

The Green Hornet-60%

HW:

V'Ger vs. Cutie Honey - (Casino Night Zone)

There’s an opportunity here for V’Ger, but he can expect to get blitzkrieged by Cuite Honey.

V’Ger-55%

Mr. Death vs. Ridley - (Land of Confusion)

Mr. Death is a boring box with really poor wedges. A bigger problem is that he only has 1 torque so he can’t push Ridley around, but even then what would really do?

Ridley-80%

Snijmachine vs. Anarchy - (ARC Arena)

Move along, nothing to see here.

Snijmachine-90%

Scoop vs. Kraze - (Lumina Cloth)

A mad race to throw the other out. Kraze is still clinging to playoff hopes and I think he’ll take this one.

Kraze-70%

Dead Ringer For Love vs. Klarinette - (Casino Night Zone)

I see the rammer taking this one, but it should be fun to watch.

Klarinette-60%

The Dark Side of Cupid vs. Final Judgement - (Land of Confusion)

In tough call fights the arena is usually the tiebreaker.

Dark Side of Cupid-60%

NB2 vs. S.O.T.A.R. - (ARC Arena)

Can a I buy a lower case letter?

SOTAR-95%

Grave Robber vs. Vertigo - (Lumina Cloth)

Ostensibly Vertigo would live long enough to thrown Grave Robber into the wild blue, but that doesn’t really matter.

Vertigo-70%

Master of Puppets vs. Jupiter 2 V - (Casino Night Zone)

Jackpot!

Master of Puppets-95%

SHW:

Hephaestus vs. Element of Chaos - (Land of Confusion)

Just what Heph needs to keep some life in it’s playoff hopes.

Hephaestus-95%

Jupiter 2 P vs. Lethal Injection - (ARC Arena)

That’s one SHW undefeated that’ll keep it’s streak alive for another week.

Lethal Injection-95%

Reflector Shield vs. Ultima - (Lumina Cloth)

There’s the smallest chance Ultimta could get a surprise win. Of course there’s also the smallest chance I could hit the lottery and host the most badass ARCcon you could imagine.

Reflector Shield-90%

Inflammatory Slammer vs. Peppernut - (Casino Night Zone)

This would be a crazy wedge on wedge battle with this arena.

Peppernut-55%

Steak vs. Teresa - (Land of Confusion)

And here’s the other undefeated SHW keeping their streak alive.

Teresa-95%

Jack Frost vs. Manta - (ARC Arena)

A fun matchup. It comes down to who can keep on the offensive the longest and I’ll say Frost could take it.

Jack Frost-65%

Curse of the Deep vs. Corrupted Politician - (Lumina Cloth)

The arena tells the story, though I guess Curse could kill CP before the ring out.

Corrupted Politician-70%

Lime-y vs. Spaulding - (Casino Night Zone)

This could be close. Can Spaulding keep the fight under control or will Lime-y put on a flipping clinic?

Lime-y-60%

Phantasmic Slammer vs. Reaver - (Land of Confusion)

It’s too late for Slammer, but here’s a fairly certain win for him.

I should go 3-1 this week but it'll probably be something like 0-4 or 0-5.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

I prefer the stance of willful ignorance much like with Anime or Philip Seymour Hoffman movies. :v:

That's a fair enough point- particularly agree with the point on Anime, it's a bit overrated.

Talking of wilful ignorance, think we'll be seeing Eggman returning to the LW circuit? :P
