Feiticeira Dael licked her lips as she glanced at Gawyn. They had arrived in this city the night before. They had rode the Winds before arriving here, erring on the side of cause. Something Gawyn hadn’t been thrilled about, he was after all a warlord prince. A dark jeweled one at that. Cee wrapped her arms around her waist and drifted a little closer to the male standing next to him. She wasn’t afraid of him, she trusted him and they had only met the day before. She moved silently towards the building in front of her. She knew it was a higher classed Red Moon house. She had been a slave here a few years ago, before escaping anyways. The mistress of the place Leyna was a strong, caring soul, something that Gawyn and her needed at the moment. Her warlord prince wasn’t strong enough to defend both him and her, but she was sure he would recover quickly. She looked at him once more, she hadn’t told him where they were going, she didn’t want to scare him away. She didn’t enter through the front door, the door the patrons used. She walked around back to the servants’ door. She paused looking up at Gawyn, “I don’t know who they will treat us; it’s been a few years since I was here.” She glanced down, feeling like a mouse instant of a Blood member. Why was she so afraid? She shook her head and pushed the door open. She walked inside and paused, trying to remember where Leyna’s office was. She glanced again yet again and closed her eyes, picturing the layout of the building. She grinned suddenly and took Gawyn’s hand and tugged him towards Leyna’s office but before they could reach it someone approached. |

Gawyn stumbled as they came out of the Summer Sky winds. The ride had been more painful than he thought it would, and that in itself was a testament to how much in still needed his rest. But he would get it… if for no other reason than to protect the Healer that risked her own life to save him… well, that… and to play back the debt her former husband owe to her. He closed his eyes and tried to regain the balance he so desperately wanted but couldn’t seem to achieve. He hadn’t like the idea of coming to this place, but Cae said that they could trust the lady that ran it. Even so, the place waged war with his instincts and his own past. The musk of sex radiated through out this place causing him to tighten the leash on his temper. He was sure that his was a Red Moon house by the smells and looks that fact didn’t way very well in his mind. “Are you sure she will help us,” he whispered as she healed him through the dark hallways. At her words, he snarled a bit. He could feel her doubt and her fear which just made the situation all the more volatile. As her heard footsteps slowly moving towards him, he whirled around to face whoever was approaching. Feeling too much like a trapped rat, he snarled at the person as he called out. “Who are you?” |

It always felt wonderful to San’na when the Lounge had turned in a good day. She had needed one after the night with Estan. It had ended well, but all of his worrying had an affect on her, and ever since she had been a little on edge. Leyna must have sensed it because she had asked San’na to report the days earning to her directly. Leyna only did that when she wanted to talk to San’na. Mostly the conversation would concern San’na, but on rare occasion Leyna had opened up some to San’na. This time San’na was certain the talk would be about her. She was the picture of concern as she walked down the dark hallway to see Leyna, one hand moving in her hair the other on her hip, head down, brow wrinkled. San’na could play a part for some of the games the patrons of the lounge wanted, but when not working she was all too easy to read. She was so lost in her concerns that she was paying almost no attention as she walked down the dark hall. This part of the lounge was completely safe, and Leyna was close by, she could relax a little. None of the edgy focus she had at the front of the building was required here. She even allowed herself to run her fingers briefly over the dark wood trim as she often did when unburdened with concerns of her siblings and their hatred for her. Just as she relaxed and turned the corner to Leyna’s office she jumped out of her skin. She backed away from the snarling warlord prince, hands to her mouth, eyes wide, speechless with fear, completely forgetting about the coin Estan gave her, not that he could be there to do any good in time anyway. She didn’t even send a thread to Leyna for help. She held out one of her hands, a feeble barrier to keep him away as she staggered backward into the wall. One word was running through her numbed mind. No, no, no. She couldn’t answer the warlord prince’s question, even if she had heard what he had asked. There was no doubt in her mind that this was the one sent by her siblings to kill her. |

Cee had paused when she heard Gawyn snarl. She bit her lip for a moment, unsure for a moment. She wasn’t used to dealing with Warlord Princes. She knew the basics of protocol but it was different in real life. She wasn’t fully aware that her emotions affected his. She just amused he was tired and needed a place to relax and sleep. She understood he was tired, she had felt how exhausted he was during the Winds ride. She wished there was more she could do for him. The hall was connected to the girls’ private room; this part of the House was clearer and didn’t fully carry the same musky smell like the rest of the place. The girls slept here and most had no desire to work in this part. She had been ‘leased’ out to the House during her time as a slave. It wasn’t common however her master hadn’t the stomach or the balls for bedroom games. She had thought it was a curse at first, but Leyna proved the kindest mistresses she had ever had. She heard the footsteps and froze as she heard Gawyn snarled at the person…woman. Cee could a deep breath and turned around, she was behind Gawyn and he was large enough to block out her from sight. She didn’t think she knew the woman but she had to calm both of them down. The woman…a hearth witch seemed terrified of Gawyn and Gawyn was rising to protect himself or maybe even her. She reached out and lightly placed a hand on Gawyn’s back. She hoped it would calm him some, the last thing they needed was him killing the witch. She slowly moved around Gawyn to stand beside him. She glanced at him before focusing on the woman. “He won’t hurt you unless you hurt,” she said with a light smile and with more confidence than she had all day. “We are just looking for Leyna, is she in her office?” |

Gawyn snarled once more but the leash on his temper was snapped tight when Cae laid her hand on his back so he didn’t strike out with lethal intent. Even so, he slowly and quietly eyed the woman… no hearth witch... his golden blue eyes pounding into her as he stared her down. Trying to take a step back from the line was racing towards; he forced himself to look at the situation in a different light. The woman was most likely just one of the working girls; some one that would have just been in at the wrong place at the wrong time. However, there was something different about this girls fear, like she had reason to fear him, and that made his blood boil and then run cold. Placing back on the mask of civility that he wore over his true nature, he roughly spoke as if his voice was sore from screaming. “I am not here for you.” Which was true, he didn’t want any woman, though he was sure that this very attractive woman didn’t lack from callers. Now that his peace had been said to the woman, he sagged up against the nearest wall. The clash of strong emotions and the fight to keep himself off the killing edge had taken most of the strength he had gotten from his broken night of sleep. He needed more, and his Red jewel reflected that in the dull shine it was given. “Man, I am tired,” he softy whispered; his voice barely rising loud enough to allow only the closest would be able to hear him. |

San’na pressed herself against the wall, as her mind reeled. Something nagged at the back of her mind, bidding her call Leyna and run. She looked quickly at door behind him and back to him gathering the courage to act, when a witch stepped from behind him. “He won’t hurt you unless you hurt. We are just looking for Leyna, is she in her office?” “Leyna?” San’na looked hopefully at the woman, wanting to believe she was a friend of Leyna’s, desperate to believe she would escape a quick death. She was about to say more when she felt the man’s eyes on her full of hate and anger. She turned her head form him and froze too terrified to move. She turned cautiously back to him, her exotically colored eyes wide with fear, flinching as he spoke. “I am not here for you.” San’na visibly relaxed but still seemed like a deer ready to bolt. Somehow the hostess in her peeked through her fear, only because it was the thing she could think to do. Giving him a cautious look she inquired. “May I ask what it is you are here for?” Normally her phrasing and tones would turn the words into as much an offer as a question, but fear washed all the offering out of it. She was beginning to wonder if they might want to kill Leyna instead of her and mind started racing when the man indicated he was tired. It was weariness in his voice, even she couldn’t fake it that well. Her fear slowly drained from her, and she gathered her scattered wits to her. She gave them one more look and decided. If worse came to worst, leading them to Leyna would allow them to deal with this pair together instead of separated. ‘Besides’ she mused looking at them. ‘They seem more the hunted than the hunter.’ She looked a the woman when she continued, finally gaining her composure, her easy grace returning to her as her arm spread open to point back down the hall behind them. “Leyna’s office is back down that hall. Allow me to take you there.” She eased around the warlord prince keeping as much distance between him and her as possible, then moving around the witch… no healer like she was. That eased her a great deal, allowing a wary smile in her direction. San’na couldn’t believe a sister healer would mean her harm. San’na wouldn’t look a the warlord as she led them the short way to Leyna’s office. She sent a tight thread to Leyna as she neared the door. ~Leyna. There is a strange man and woman in the hallway just outside your door. The woman asked to see you. I couldn’t think of anything better than to bring them to your office. Let me know what you want me to do.~ San’na stopped in front of the door and opened it for them. “She is in here.” |
