Rhone made sure the offering was prepared, cool and ready for the Lady to arrive. It might gall most dark Jeweled witches to be in the shadow of a Queen like Galyna, but Rhone was not stupid. They were so close to taking Dharo for themselves, and there were a few other, small, favors that Rhone need ask of Galyna. It was good business to be aligned with the most powerful. And having powerful allies was never a bad idea. So as Rhone rose with tired bones out of a chain in this sitting room, awaiting the arrival of the Queen of Hell. It was late, nearly the witching hour. Soleil had long ago been sent to her rooms for the evening, Rhone's insistance that teh girl rest before the ball tomorrow night being reasonable. Rhone was fairly sure she'd taken Jozuah with her, so while the child wasn't sleeping, she was still otherwise occupied and that was all that Rhone required. It was not time for Soleil to know of Galyna, not yet. Not until she was Queen of Dharo and in a position of power, with a strong Court around her, and could be of use to the woman who wished to take over the Realms. Then the Everards would be powerful indeed. Thinking of power brought to mind thoughts of the very young Queen that had recently come to light in the family. Katrina. Rhone intended to keep the girl among the family, but she Rhone needed to make sure that she did not grow more powerful than Rhone herself without assurances taht she would never turn on them. Perhaps it would be safest to have the girl broken or at least strip her of her potential to wear darker. If only the family had a dark Jeweled Black Widow. Magdalenda wasn't strong enough, and she didn't have the backbone to do it, to weave a web that would keep someone at their potential. Rhone cursed herself again for never completing her training among the hourglass. But no time to consider that, she had to wait for Galyna and be alert when the guardian arrived. |

Opal to Red Jeweled BW Priestess Queen :: High Priestess of Hell

Galyna was delightfully surprised when she had received Rhone’s letter requesting a meeting. She was proud of this little project of hers. Dharo had been the first territory in Kaeleer that she had begun to prune. True while it hadn’t embraced her like Nharkahava had but it was the slow victories that gave the most satisfaction. Rhone had been the product of her careful pruning. The Black Widow Priestess Queen had once fed Rhone’s great-grandmother honey words about getting power, and it was nice to see that it had become a family tradition. And now, the old Priestess was requesting a meeting. Gathering her things, the Queen of Hell entered the gate right outside her home and moved quickly to the fresher air of Dharo. She would arrive quickly at the Everard Estate by the Red wind and still have time to gauge the feeling at the manor. The young Queen of Rhone’s was quite a good find. Forced to grow up vicious and delightfully depended on Rhone’s advice, she would be a wonderful Queen to set on the throne. True, it had been her and Rhone’s plan from the very beginning, but the old Priestess was getting older and would only be around for a few more years, and Galyna would need to become acquainted with the puppet Queen soon. Arrived at the manor proper, the Queen wrapped herself in an sight and aura shield and used craft to slipped through the shields that surrounded the door. She didn’t want anyone else in the building to know that she was here. It was still a bit too soon to reveal herself to them, but soon it would be very soon. Dropping the shield as she swept into the room that was set up for her, she gave the old Priestess a wonderful smile. “Rhone, it is so good to hear from you.” |

Rhone turned and inclined her head as Protocol dicated to a darker Jeweled Queen. "Lady Galyna, it is so good of you to come, and on such terribly short notice." It hadn't been short notice at all. Rhone knew how to play to the more powerful, though it often galled her to do so. Galyna was generous with her pets, though, and Rhone was mostly content with the prestige and power she had enjoyed throughout her six decades of life. She was a very powerful woman in Dharo, and her family was feared and respected. Her niece would hold the Territory as Queen. Life was quite good. "How was your trip?" She gestured, and a serving boy from near the wall hurried to comply, pouring gently warmed yarbarah for the Queen, and offering it to her with perfect form. His tongue had been cut out, and he had been broken away from any power that might have been his. With no way to communicate, he was not a liability to keep around for the more sensitive discussions that a woman in Rhone's position was prone to have from time to time. "Please, sit down." Rhone gestured to the seats and slowly sat herself down. Despite being in good shape for her age, she still felt the fatigue of a long day in old bones, especially with the stress of the loss of two of the family's more convenient possessions. "I have a few requests to discuss with you this evening, Lady, and some ill news. No doubt you have already heard: two of the witches of the family ran away, and escaped to Terreille. Chansity, the young Blake witch, and the pet Soleil kept, Rhaevin. Chansity is no doubt the more sore loss, as she was a bargaining piece with the powerful Blake family. Rhaevin was simply an added irritation to lose." She explained quite simply. She rarely minced words when they got down to business like this. "I ask for your help to go to Terreille and retrieve the two of them." She added with the proper inclination of her head. |

Opal to Red Jeweled BW Priestess Queen :: High Priestess of Hell

Gaylna was a bit a bit faltered by all the attention to detail even if it was expected. Rhone was always a good student and a hard worker, and Gaylna had rewarded the woman with power beyond what this weak, orgainally light jeweled family could ever have had on there own. Through out the generations, she had been advising certain members of the family on who they should be marrying their children off too, or which broken witch should be used for breading before made into a maid somewhere. And through her efforts, they had grown in power and in jewel rank. The Rose, the Summer Skies, the Purple Dusk birthrights and even the Opal were all her doing. It still amazed her how breading could raise one station above the ranks of the normal day person. Taking the yarbarh from the boy, she took a sip and a moment to enjoy the favor of it on her tongue, “Very pleasant, as you know I have always enjoyed my trips to the shadow realm. The air is wonderfully pleasant compared to Hell.” She watched as the old woman slowly sank into the chair next to the one that she had chosen. Rhone was getting older and looking at her, the Queen wondered if she would ever get that old or look that way. She had come from the short races too, but being a Guardian, she still looked like she was in her prime. “So how may I be of service today?” She knew about the two escapes from the family and it was a bit annoying, but losses are expected at some point. The real question was were will they end up, and if they could do any damage while they were out. The Blake girl was the stronger of the two losses, and if she was to make her offering it would be even harder to convince her to come back. Still, maybe the weaker of the two could be used to snare the other one. “Yes, I heard, it is a irritating lost, but a minor one. One that I am sure could be fixed in time. But either way, I will look into what can be done in Terreille to alleviate the problem.” Pausing for a moment, she cocked her head at the woman as she made a quick sweep of the house with the Red, a jewel no one here could match or detect. Things seemed well enough, but there was something more here. A green jeweled Queen… hmm… living here means that she would have to part of the family. Maybe she did her job a bit too well. “And the other matter?” she asked after a few seconds, knowing this young queen would be on the list. |

Rhone let the softness of the chair she'd chosen ease the ache of old bones before she went on with utmost respect. Some might resent this Queen before her who held such power and prestige. No, Rhone did not resent her. She knew that Galyna was a very large reason that the Everard family held such power now. Perhaps the sole reason. So Rhone would not resent the woman who had groomed them for power, who had given them Dharo. "There is a young Healer Queen, born of the family. Her caste is enough to note her." Though she was the same caste of the Everard girl who had escaped, Rhaevin. The difference was that Rhaevin was Birthright Rose, and unlikely to ever make her Offering. Even if she did, she matched Soleil, she would never outrank Rhone herself, let alone the High Priestess of Hell. No, that was the problem with little Miss Katrina. She wore Birthright Green, the same Jewel as Rhone's Offering. She had the potential to even outstrip Galyna. "There was some interest paid, but no one expected the potential that came of her. She walked away with Birthright Green." She let the words sink in before she motioned her serving boy forward, to pour her wine as well. She did not drink yarbarah. She did not need the blood, nor did she like the metallic taste. She would not drink it, no she would savor the rich Dhemlan red, and she did as she waited for Galyna to speak, to react in some way. "I am... unsure what to do with her. My first instincts were to break her, but she could potentially be a great tool, if we could assure her loyalty. Eight years old is still old to begin shaping her, and unfortunately her parents were not the most helpful in that area." she said with the slightest bit of exasperation coloring her voice. |
