I changed the seats to leather upholstery from another dakota and added heated seat pads http://www.heatedseatkits.com/ I never want to own an automatic tranny. Manual tranny is the only way to go. As for fuel mileage i have not checked it in a few years but i personally believe i get better mileage then an automatic. I think the last one i did i got about 18 mpg. The main problem i have with the manual tranny is i enjoy going for speed burts and speed shifting. So they are very hard shifts at about 3-4 grand. Fuel mileage does not get very good with that kind of driving. When driving sane and downshifting I hardly ever use the brakes except for putting the brake lights on. I try to shift around 2 grand when driving sanely. I find riding around in 4th gear 50 kph (30 mph) i get better mileage (overhead console) If i jump to 5th the mileage gets worse at that speed. I mainly drive highway miles and very little in the city |
