Hey y'all,

Got the P1899 Park/Neutral Safety Switch code and I'm wanting to change the switch. I've heard it inside the trans and I'll have to drop my pan. Anyone have some maintenance advice about changing the switch? Is it true I have to drop the pan? Since I have the pan dropped, is there anything else I should change? Ie filters or anything preventative wise I can do?

Cheers men!

I called the local dodge dealer and gave them the last 8 digits of my VIN and they told me what transmissions have, 45RFE. Which most may know as basically the only trans that caem with the 4.7L's. I also asked them about the filters and neutral safety switch. The switch is internal and there are 2 filters, a spin on for the cooler and a pancake style one. I've done some pretty deep research before I called the dealer so I've learnt a lot about my transmission and available ones, so if you have some questions, I'd be happy to try as answer them!

Also, if anyone ever has questions about specs for their truck, call or go to your local dodge dealer and give them your VIN. They can print off an entire sheet of all the specs for your truck. It settles any questions you may have, for example, what transmission you have or any gear ratios, etc.
