Sooooo.... Somethings broke, well going to break at some point.... Driving down the road and if I take a gradual right turn like cruising down a road going 40-50 taking a nice right turn, turning the wheel about 20 degrees or so, Theres a vibration in my front left tire.... I kinda shrugged it off and said i will check it out when i get home since i was headed to work... Well left work and it started to sound worse, still only on right turns like i said before, but now at slower speeds and it just sounds bad when it makes it noise... Oh and to try to hear it a little better i went down my road warming up my tires like they do in nascar and heard it and it didn't sound good at all, I have no idea how to describe the noise.... I got under the truck and looked at the front left suspension and saw nothing out of the ordinary, everything was tight and in place as far as I know and I went ahead and compared it to the right front suspension and everything seemed the same. My front right cv boot has a nice crack in it and I knew about that a few months ago and forgot about it, but this noise is coming from the front left. The front left cv boot was fine i didn't see any cracks or tears on it... Any idea's guys???? Its getting to the point I am getting nervous hearing it, figure if it breaks and makes me wreck that's why i have insurance i guess lol btw im at 80,500 miles give or take a little Edited by joshfdx22, Apr 13 2011, 09:27 AM.

sounds like a wheel bearing, a cv shaft will make noise all the time. but you should definitly change that boot. |

Well bad news on the way to work it started to make continous noise. It was nasty sound like a chirping noise, then went to a long squeal like a slipping belt almost it didn't sound good at all... I called work and was like I'm going to be a little late and went straight home lol and took a ride to work. Didn't want to have it lock up on me |

Okay took everything off tire brake rotor and if I grab the lugs or the tire they will move up and all around... Guess my cv shaft/joint or if there is bearings between that and my lugs the bearings are shot anyone know what is between there I sure don't |

WHEEL BEARING! take youre nut off the end of youre axle, then take the three 9/16 bolts out of the back of the spindle and whack youre bearing off, its an easy job just make sure everything is tight when youre done.this is a good opertunity to change that cv boot too, it needs to be done with the axle out of the truck. the new bearing will come with a new hub and everything its an assembly. |

Wheel Hub & Bearing, all sold as one unit. If you have 4 wheel ABS it is going to cost you some $$$$. |

I got it all on there and it's back to normal, thanks for the help while down there my control arm bumper was done for and fell out, so looked online and 31 bucks wtf... But question is how in the hell does this go in? The old one just fell on out and I have it in my passenger seat and I'm just driving nice and easy... Kind of thinking about duck taping the old one back in there and save 30 bucks |

a month ago i just got done redoing my whole front end. Once i fixed one thing something eles broke. I replaced steering rack and pinon, both tie rods, both wheel bearings, all four ball joints, steering shaft, power steering pump, and power steering lines. It was alot of work and alot of money, especially the steering shaft, bought that from the factory brand new for 256.00. so thank god you didnt have to go all through that, lol |
