you got a K&N intake so no need to worry, loosen the clamp at the throttle body and turn the intake tube up and youll be good. i need a cold air intake because my stock intake looks stupid with the body lift.

ive still got the stock intake and no problems theres enough flex in it to work... but honestly you would be wasting your money with the K&N cai just make your own with 3 rubber connecters and 2 90*s way cheaper and just as effective

if you use aluminum pipeing and the correct connections you will be fine the air isnt in the intake long enough to change the temp of the incoming air by more than 3-5*s if that over what the temp is that it takes in at the filter

the air isnt supposed to change temperature in the intake piping, it supposed to suck in COLd air. if you use pvc pipe, its just a cone filter sucking in hot air usually from around the exhaust manifold where everybody puts it. the absolute best thing is to run it inside the fender or behind the bumper but since were talking about body lifts, chances are youre gunna be doing some wheeling so its best to keep it as high as possible.

well thats what i was saying use 2 90* turns and the first will come off of the TB and turn twards the fender and the seccond would run from there to right behind the headlight the same place your CAIs will run to and cost half as much but if you just used the first 90* then your just making a short ram thats supposed to help with velocity or some shit not cold air

@04Dak: The brand name doesn't change where the air comes from. If its under the hood, the truck is running, and you have a CAI, its ballsackings hot. The air moving through the engine is going to be cooler, not "cold". K&N doesn't have a little igloo feature that installs right next to the filter to keep that air fresh and icy. The CAI is meant to be less restrictive, thereby decreasing the amount of time the air is around the engine, thereby making it cooler than a stock intake. I mean that's just logic. You can seal pieces of PVC piping, aluminum or whatever you're using just fine, same as a K&N, AIRRAID, or whatever you've got if you know what you're doing. Compare a K&N to standard polycarbonate piping you can get at any hardware supplier store and I guarantee you its going to look really similar, and serve the same purpose.
