ok guys. this is a long term cause. when i wrecked the quad the day i got it it dented up the trans pan. i did not have any problems until the other day when it started all of a sudden started shifting funny. no code then though. hooked the scaner up and drove around. the governor pressure sensor was not increasing voltage and was not meeting the psi goal. so i was not getting fluid psi to the valve body. so i started with droping the pan and banged it out and replace the filter that calapsed on itself finally after 12,000 miles. everything was fine the first day after that then started shifting funny but still moved. then bing, check engine light. thats when that stated. any input guys? [WTF]

wow how bad a dent are we talking? if it hit the tranny filter it might have knocked it loose from its seal and it would have lost fluid pressure. does it move anymore?

it was just enough to dent the filter up but i replaced the filter and fixed the pan. now i just have a code. but yeah it moves great. shifts funny from 2nd to 3rd and then shifts funny and HARD from 3rd to 4th. i hate auto trans just for this shit. but i'm too lazy anymore for stick.

Greetings Group
A couple of things I googled up from another Tech Heads post [thumbs-up] :headbang
Question........
Recently, i had two trouble codes come up on my truck. One was for the governor's sensor and the TCC (torque converter clutch). I took my truck to an auto repair shop and was told that i needed to replace the gov. sensor and the gov. solenoid, so i did. Two days later the check engine light came on again with a code of a P1740, (TCC). What is the problem now? I was told that the there is 2 torque converter solenoids but was also told that there is only one that contains the TCC/o/d lock out all in one.
Replies..........
There is one solenoid assy with two solenoids on it. One for the TCC and other for OD. in my experience, P1740 is caused by a couple of things. The torque converters are a subject of trouble for one - I always replace them - the other are the input sealing rings on the input shaft. Older designs leak pressure. Always replace with the plastic - **** end type which is the update today. P1740 has nothing to with the governor solenoid or sensor

The only time I have ever seen the gov pressure sensor code is if the wrong fluid was used (atf+4 only) the torque converter lock up is in the torque converter, and then it goes into "limp" mode where 1st and 2nd are locked out and 3rd 4th and od work ok if you had the tranny serviced by other than a dealer ask if they used atf+4 only as some garages are using dexroniii with an additive which will not work well

Regards/Hope this helps
