So I got a crappy system off e-bay for $27 and although the filter really isn't great its not bad! and it comes with the same pipe that and connectors by vibrant and the cost is less plus free shipping! I thought it was a pretty good deal! I'm going out to take a picture now! I think I might buy another one and relocate the filter to get more cold air! for $27 why not? its a little cheaper then buying it at the parts store and its the same thing! and at that cost you can go buy a better 3.5in universal filter! |

I just did this to mine as well. Although I went the cheaper PVC route. $15. I must say I am quite happy with the results. A Noticeable gain just by taking off that silencer. I did have to make a little fitting to mount the ATS back in the airstream. But it is in the same location as the factory mount. Now I think I am going to look for a larger air box. I can't do the cone filter thing as dust is a huge problem where I drive my truck. I am going to go to the wrecker and find a much larger filter box and mod it to fit. Then I will be able to get a larger volume of air without having to use/constantly clean a K&N. |

Just use a k&n drop in filter. A bigger air box will give you no benefit. The stock one is more than enough. |

I got one of those filter kits of ebay and it came with a k&n filter, and funny thing is that when I start the truck the noise it makes its funny, shes sucking in the air, shows just how much the factory box was restricting the air flow, much better throttle response and power now |

Grretings Group Same here.......when I went with an aftermarket intake, it sounds like it pulls, more air than the factory box. I also pulled the rubber flap off the passenger side by the rad. Regards as always ![]() TC |

did you find that pulling off that flap allowed more cold or cool air into the intake? |
