If you don't want to start trimming out your front lower bumper valance and lower front fender at the rear then stick with 33's. 33x12.50 is plenty big enough and will bolt right up without any problems with a 3" BL and torsion bar crank.

I agree with everyone else, stick with the 33's. Also, depending on your gear ratio, 33's might be as big as you want to go because of the loss in power that you're going to notice. I have 3.56's, which suck, and my 33's are hard as hell to push on slight inclines on the highway. Overdrive is always off on the highway. I'm typically in the camp that bigger is always better, but sometimes you need to be smart about it.

Well said kota. Nobody even touched on the power robbing factor of running larger tires.

I've seen different dakota get different size under them. Basically no two trucks are exactly the same. Currently, mine has 30.5" tires on it and it does just fine (though it is at stock height)

My 4x4 came stock from the factory with the 31x10.50/R15's. The 33's were a relatively small jump up from that but I could notice quite a drop in engine RPM when on the highway. It makes a difference for sure.

Greetings Group

As luck would have it.............Superchips makes a product that adjust for aftermarket tire height and I believe also adjust the RPM at the same time...............Introducing the Tirepaq...................

http://allobd.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SC-3836

Now........your Superchips Tuner has this as one of the options in it's tuning protocol............but this tool is a stand alone for dealing with tire/wheel recalibration only [thumbs-up]

Yeah, I was going to go up to 31's but the 3" PA BL is going on once the new shocks come in and I'll crank the T-Bar as well. Might go 33s or 32s.

Country Kota, I have a stock 01 Dakota and i can fit 32 inch off road without a lift or tortion bar set up. How ever it does rub the inner fender but not as much as i though it would. The rubbing only occured when i was turning sharply. Also i have alot more wheel hop when turning in 4x4.

Yeah wheel hop is common in dodges while in 4WD HI or Lo sometimes.
I've been running the 265/75R16s since I bought the truck back in 2007 (the tires cam on the truck)...

I've got a buddy with a 4x4 stock height dakota also running a 32" and he has some slight rubbing as well...

...However, now I'm looking around for some bigger tires to replace the current ones now that there is a 3" BL on it. Thinking of a 33"
