Here are some pics of my homemade cai.It is made out of 3" mandrel bent pipe and I welded in a hose barb for the crankcase vent.It looks like an expensive aftermarket one to me so I'm very happy with it.

2001 QC 2wd. 3"4"drop,Magnaflow dual exahust,1pc tinted headlights and tinted taillights,rollpan,fiberglass bed cover,billet grill insert,Pioneer sound system.
Future additions,custom center console to house shallow mount Pioneer sub and amp,custom 2 tone paint,custom 6 pack hood,and hopefully some wheels.

All I had to pay for was the filter,the rest I scavenged at work.
2001 QC 2wd. 3"4"drop,Magnaflow dual exahust,1pc tinted headlights and tinted taillights,rollpan,fiberglass bed cover,billet grill insert,Pioneer sound system.
Future additions,custom center console to house shallow mount Pioneer sub and amp,custom 2 tone paint,custom 6 pack hood,and hopefully some wheels.

IN fact, my fernco coupler off the TB, PVC pipe, and filter, walled off from the engine compartment, will absorb much less heat, and transfer much less to the intake charge. On a hot day, I'll bet that alloy pipe gets to close to 200 degrees.

It does look good though!
