Finally got my jeep back from the shop and it runs like a champ. It is loud as hell and definetly has some balls to it. After towing it to my buddies shop to take apart the vacuum disconnect on the front axles (going to tack weld the vacuum sleeve in place). We noticed there was a problem in the front diff, my thinking was the spider gears were shot... so I take the diff cover off and little slices and chunks of metal come falling out. The gear oil looked original 250,000 miles. So I grab a flash light and look in the diff and what to me surprise do I see.......... NO TEETH on the Pinion gear at all. Smooth as can be. So I was planning on taking the jeep out on its first trail ride with me as its new owner but now it gets to sit in my buddies shop waiting for its new life to begin. 79' Ford Bronco HP D44/ 9'' rear. 5.13 gears Spooled Rear 3-link the front 4-link the rear Radflo shocks Either 35's or 37's for the tires Custom front and rear bumpers (the most best approach angles) Full Cage
Hope to have it done in about 3 to 4 months. |

No teeth on the pinion at all? Wow! Usually the spider gears will crap out before that happens. Having lots of fun with this thing huh?
