my two cents worth --- take the lock conector out of manifold, put in cai, then just lightly cut some threads in manifold with tap, and put in a plug w/ teflon tape--- this should work seing as the older ones are thraded and the push lock should be able to fit into a hole in the cai |

thanks for the input acornish that is what makes this forum great, however, just like there is a price limit on a minimal upgrade there is a limit on how much I want to hack on my truck's oem parts for the same minimal upgrade. plus I gave the lock conector a few twists and pulls and I do not know if it even comes out of the manifold without surgery. the original appeal of this mod was cheap, easy, and quick power. when I had my 1990 dakota extended cab I beat out the floor in the back with a ball peen hammer in order to accomodate 2 10" subwoofers in a custom enclosure , the subs worked and looked great but i always felt bad for beating on my truck like that. to add a little more perspective i bought that truck for $300, and i pay $242 a month on my 2002. belive me if this was a 20 hp upgrade i would be all over it also please forgive my reference to your idea as hacking, i mean no disrespect, that is just how i would feel if i did that to my truck |
