I decided I needed some mental nutcase project to keep me busy, so welcome to my lawnmower!

Having had a mild interest in lawn mower racing after seeing it at my college a few years ago Ive always fancied building one for myself!.

The donar: westood 12hp ride on mower.

First job is to sort the chassis, so the front axle has been removed and new mounts fabricated to raise it up 3 inches (obviously lowering the front) The bonnet was then reposition to give a lower stance!

This has left the part that holds the controls and steering wheel rather high.

I have now modified it so the tin work finishes level with the bonnet (got too dark for pics but will add tomorrow)

Now most of you will probably be thinking how dull a 12hp mower is going to be to drive and I couldnt agree more, hence my next aquisition (sadly photo's will have to wait for tomorrow)

I have a complete accident damaged Yamaha fzr600r motorbike, running 90bhp and capapble of 1/4 miles in under 11 seconds, now that should make for a quick mower!

few more pics, modified the rest of the tin work, need to plate behind the steering wheel to fill the gap, this will house rev counter and warning dials.

Next job is to get both of the engines out and start fabricating the mounts.

I think that puttin that engine in a lawnmower is the funniest silliest and most brilliant idea I have seen this year,my brother buys new quad bikes and does exactly the same thing but for road use only!!!

You are mental lol

Little bit more progress!

Completely stripped the mower down to its chassis, sold the engine so a few quid to go back into it!

Have now cut the rear end off the kart and have fitted it into the mower chassis, tacked in place but ran out of mig wire!

Now I need to buy the parts to fit onto the axle (bearings and carriers, sprocket and disk carriers and hubs) once this is done I can fit the axle and get my alignment to fit the engine mounts for the bike engine.
