well, as i have decided to sell the bmw, it has developed a small problem.. symptoms - quite heavy smell of fuel/fumes if i have the internal blowers on.. - decreased fuel consumption - and a slight hesitation above 5.5k revs, in all gears.. It pulls strong up to that point, but hesistates at about 5.5k. If you slightly ease off at 5.5k, then floor it, it is ok for 500-1000rpm's more(say up to 6.5k), then hesitates again.. i've done a bit of research and have possible ideas of o2 sensor or MAF sensor?? can anyone help with ideas - or physically?? cheers people.. |

Needs a diagnostic mate the o2 sensor maybe the fault as to the holding back I had loads of trouble with mine like that. My stepdad maybe able to help u out with the diagnostic I'll call him tomorrow and give u a bell after, as for the fuel smell sound like it's connected with the prob but how I dunno |

cool, cheers mate.. from my reading on the bmw forums, it suggested that the fuel smell could be due to some sort of overfueling, due to the faulty o2 sensor, and the fumes from the over fueling being sucked into the internal blower system - as if you switch the internal blowers to 'internal air only' type thing, then the smell goes away... |

jonny, i think it has got a ob2 socket.. from what i have read, it has ob2 from 1996 onwards... but being 1996 onwards, means it has 4.....yes 4, o2 sensors....!!! that would be great if i could plug it in and see whats what..... |
