just take it back and demand your money back.

if its not been sold as described then you could always take it to small claims court.

i am not a 100% sure but i still think you have rigths even if bought as seen.

to be totally honest anyone selling a car on here should have morales......
was it an active member from on here or just someone trying to sell a car.

maybe there should be a post limit before you can sell cars/parts etc

if no joy............................................. name and shame em. :2p:

well it's French... what did you expect??

Sorry... seriously.... there is always a risk when buying any used car.

I suspect the seller is not a regular member on here and there have been a couple of Saxo's advertised in recent months but lets not start a witch hunt hey guys.

Most second hand cars are sold as seen but I agree that if the guy knew it was a dog then perhaps this isn't the best place to advertise!

There is an item in the Acceptable Use Policy regarding purchases from other club members.

Not trying to be unhelpful, just stating a fact before it gets thrown back in the clubs face.

Sorry that this has happened Nick but at the end of the day it was a deal between you and whoever the seller was. I still suspect the member isn't a really active member.

It was a private sale and any fault detectable via reasonable inspection (such as a bad gearbox) is your responsibility and any item not detectable via reasonable inspection that the owner doesn't know about (such as drive shaft issues if it's not detectable via a test-drive) is not their responsibility either.

I did even took my step dad, but the glow plugs being rounded off and the engine doing 186k instead of the 86k on the clock is something else, your on a car enthusists site you'd expect them to look after their cars

Moral of the story is perhaps to do a bit of research on the member before you buy.

Click on thier username and then click on 'find all topics by this member' and have a look exactly what they have posted on here and if they seem a genuine person.

Also perhaps pm other members who appear to have met the member.

Quite right that the club is not responsible Rob, but what about on a 'people level' the spirit of solidarity with members of the club.

you don't sh*t on your own doorstep.

Hope you get this resolved.

and :2p: boot the person involved out of DJCC as they are abusing the club and taking the piss out of the members.

Because not every one is mechanically minded as you may be.
Plus as stated before, buying from a car enthusiast club, especially a local club, you (I) would hope people arent trying to stitch you up.
Maybe he really didnt know about the problems though, was it his every day car?

beg to differ i have been speaking to a few people and looks like it will be going to small claims court if he does not co'operate as theree is somethings he didnt do right can go into them as dont want to give them away to this member :P
