Picked this up today which is going to be a dedicated track car. Already started stripping it with the removal of everything from the inside bar the 2 front seats. They will be replaced with Bucket seats and accompanied with a full rollcage but the first thing is to replace the terrible stock brakes!!
There will be no play time this year so i have plenty of time to get it ready for next years action.
The difference in power between this and the RA is night and day, i didnt really appreciate how quick that car was until i drove this...but hey ho onwards and upwards..

Should make a good project mate :)

Can't say I've ever been that much of a fan of the Pulsars looks, but as a track car it should be fun :D

I'm sure it'll make a great track car, but wouldn't the RA have been more suited as a dedicated track car?

How far are you going with the SR20?

I REALLY want a track car, gotta save some pennies!

Yes Paul it was ideal but after i had it painted i was to scared to scratch it or bend it, IMO it was just to nice to use a proper track car.

Cool...looks mean!!!!

Should be a good project, a good stripping and some ARB's and stiffening should see if very quick in the corners!

Just had it on the rollers for a power run....it made a surprising 286@1bar but with a seriously late spool issue, it doesnt make peak boost until 5k!!!

Nice one jay, Mine made 296@1bar so they are very capable cars, when the boost is set up properly they are hardly laggy at all, really driveable. On thing i would reccomend is to get an oil cooler kit on it!

Might be able to give you a run for your money in the starlet now though :P I'm doing the same as you saving it for next yeas action, need to buy a new exhaust manifold, downpipe and get a remap. Should see me 275 horses or thereabouts.

Then new coilovers, front and rear ARBs and an anti-lift kit coupled with polybushed suspension all round. Already got polyurethane engine mounts :) Already got the rollcage ;)

Should be fun though, thats why i love my GT, the bodywork is battered so its not too much of an issue if i scratch it

[GK-customfield]Lewis[customfield-GK]
Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

Sounds good Lewis... ;)

The lag is unreal it was the first thing i noticed when i drove it, i can only describe as waiting for Vtec to kick in...only messing Honda people..

Its like its got a huge turbo but without the kick when it finally comes on boost. Ive tried playing with the EBC by tweaking the gain/response but it doesnt make much difference....i know feckall about these Nissan's so its back to School in that respect.

how was the fuelling of it?? can you post your power charts up so we can have a look??

sometimes late boost is caused by boost leak this should show up if the fuelling was fairly rich too.

if it hasnt got a recirc kit for the dump valve this may also cause a later full boost peak readings esp if it has the slightly larger turbo.

286 bhp at 1 bar it sounds like a large t28 varient turbo on the sr20

Ill put the dyno plot up shortly Mark....The fueling was a little lean to start then richened up a touch and leveled off, im hoping that it will sort it start out if i can sort the late spool problem.
Ive no idea what turbo it has Mark, all i do know about this car is its a Nissan... The engine looks like its been shoe horned into the bay even more so than an EJ20...
