Chainsaws Stolen

We had two of our saws stolen this evening! I actually walked up the drive with them in the shed and didn't see them :(

My neighbour saw them walking away with the saws and asked them what they were doing, when they kept walking she called the police. We had several cop cars out and the chopper

They walked out with over a grands worth, thats my christmas ruined. Winters tough enough for us, losing our two most important tools is a real blow.

No one heard the shed alarm and they cut through £65 worth of chain with ease. They actually took another £800+ saw, but had to leave it because it was too big.

So if anyone hears of an MS200 top handled saw for sale (small tree surgery saw) or an MS361 (medium/large saw) for sale let me know, both are pretty new with less than three months use.

I've got to seriously beef up the security tomorrow (I thought it was pretty good  ).

not what you want to here mate, but a shed isn't the hardest thing to get into chain or no chain, maybe a couple of heavy secure units within the shed is what you need. hope you guys have insurance and they do there end nice and quick, pauldont let some scum bags ruin your chrimbo, if news gets back of who they are i'll come get them back with you bud.

totally feel for you guys though its not nice, one to be stolen from, and as mentioned afraid of repeat trips.

failing that some tin cans and a trip wire!

They've got some front to do that....feckin eck! :o what a bunch of bas****s!

I can see why they stole them...what's with the price, have they got gold on them nowadays?

I doubt you'll find them unless they've had the postcode burnt onto the body, I always did that for the Councils gear but the bloody things still went walkabout....inside job

A Barking Dog alarm system works pretty well B)

No insurance, trying to insure chainsaws for business use costs nearly as much as the tools themselves.

To be honest, its a massive stainless steel chain and I really believed bulk cutters wouldn't go through it, I was wrong.

They make hardened chains, which can't be cut with bulk cutters. In hindsight, I should have had one of those and a better alarm.

The saws are/were too big to go in a secure unit, like a van vault. <_<

Keep an eye out on things like FreeAds, Gumtree etc in case they try to flog them. Can't see them taking them to use them <_< but you never know.

Beef up your security big time because they might be brazen enough to come back for more gear if they think they can gain entry. Be ready for them.

yeah i often see stuff come up on gumtree thats blatantly been nicked but it sounds like their a bit more professional than this with having their own bolt cutters etc

just gotta keep your fingers cross i guess.. hope the police come up with something. the fact that someone saw them is good news at least

what a pair of bastards :(
