Why oh why do people drive around sometimes in the day but mostly at night with their fog lights on???? Do they not realise that fog lights are brighter so people can see them in the fog!! I cant believ that its a mistake with some people as theres a light to say that there are on!! It drives me crazy how many people do this, its road ignorance and people that usethem should have fixed penalty fines  Its like 1 in 5 cars that do it now, makes my blood boil!! Ok rant over :ph43r: |

It very rarely gets foggy enough to warrant legal use of foglights. Makes me wonder if the dumb-asses with them on ever look at their dashboard and the big blue or yellow warning light on all the time  |

Fixed penalty is £30 but there needs to be police on the roads to catch them |

The trouble is it's pretty difficult to judge how far 100 metres in when your moving at 40mph through banks of fog. Anyhoo... still no need to have them on just coz it's dark. I have been guilty of it though years ago in my CRX when driving to work at 4am. I did used to try and turn them on and off with mu full beams though. |

For some reason, this gets on my goat as well. I regularly see cars, with side lights and fogs on in the daytime, in town - regularly. Why? What is the point? Does it make them feel special? Stand out from the crowd? Does it float their boat? Actually, I reckon its just that they are ignorant and often don't realise they are on. Either that or they are special.

I think old folks simply don't know they are on. Younger people probably put them on the attract attention... I used to do it just to see the road better! |

I use mine first thing in the morning with side lights when its still dark. A) They're not that bright They dont point upwards enough to blind anyone (and fogs shouldnt do anyway) and C) I only use them because I dont want to burn out my Xenons - Import car, expensive to get replacements... my sidelights on there own arent bright enough.Awaits grilling... |

inconsiderate, ignorant, unable to operate a vehicle correctly, blind, these things spring to mind about folk who drive with fog lamps blazing away. Also incorrect headlamp settings via the incar adjuster gets me rageing especially when im getting blinded by some dim-wit & his ponsey hid or zenon things burning my face off. D1CK43ADS. |

I have never used my fog lights because Ive never driven about when its that foggy I have needed them, so I dont know where they are to turn them on and did it by accident! But when Ricky pointed it out to me I turned them back off. :ph43r: |

We talking fog lights, ie yellow ones, or drivers lights, white ones..??? Drivers lights can be used anywhere as long as a) its dark and no street lights, eg dark motorways, b roads etc.Fog lights on the other hand can only be used in the fog with substantially reduced visibility. Thats how I understood it anyway. I use my drivers lights all the time cause a) its dark and im allowed to I wanna see where im going and c) nissan headlights suck balls so the more light on the road the better However, agreed that turning them on in a vein attempt to look cool... no, especially the sidelights and drivers / fog lights method... :ph43r: J. |
