thats good news...... every little helps is right.... but although it doesnt sound a lot, it could give a much needed relief for people..

Look at it on the flip side.... everything has VAT factored into it, so if almost everything you buy is 2% less, then its like getting a 2% pay rise!!!!!!!

if you earn £20,000 a year, thats another £400. bout £30 a month after tax.....

That will be goin towards the petrol fund!!!!!

Shame the bad news is that everyone will have to pay more tax in a couple of years to pay it all back.

You don't get anything for nothing

To be honest, I'd expect it to take a little longer for it all to work out.

Means we'll be paying 2.5% less for most things, and therefore they're not going to give us a break so easy!

Not a chance, fuel duty going up by 2.5% to counteract VAT cut. Same on booze 'n fags :wallbang:

Really can't see VAT cut making much difference. We will end up getting £1 back now and paying £3 for it later.
