Im after some new pads for my car and wondered if these would actually be ok for my car, considering they are for high performance cars!

I dont want green ones as they are green and thats why I want red ones to go with my calipers. I know they are a bit more but Im not bothered!

So do you think they will be ok for my slow car?

they will probably be worse than standerd as they need alot of heat to work efficiantly thats why there designed for high performance cars and mainly track use

imo don't buy EBC discs or pads at all.

I don't know what ones are avaliable but Black Diamond were very good (bit squeeky and dusty though).

I run red stuff and they are cr*p. Wouldn't buy them again. Got the discs to go with them as well. Sammi, yellow stuff are really high performance ones, more so than red stuff. They are for full on motorsport, but I've heard about the way you drive ;)

Yellowstuff pads are good. FACT. Green stuff are ok when warm.

I would get some Ferodo DS2500, or mintex extreme pads.

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

EBC have changed their compound and the way you use them!

greenstuff -- same as oe
redstuff -- small hatch NO TRACK!
yellow -- fast road SOME TRACK
blue --- TRACK ONLY

I have yellows in my s15 and they are fu**ing brilliant, no brake dust, and work from cold.
I have taken buster out in my car from where it was sat for a good time (so pads were cold) and showed him how they work from cold.
you ask him his opinion and it is probally shared.

If you had ebc before then rethink them as they have bucked their ideas up.

Will happily give demo's but replacement window maybe needed if i jumped on them.

only complaint is they need bout 300 miles of carefull braking as has a bed in pad on back, so doesnt need copper slip and it makes them sound bit clunky till they are bed in.

Then sweet as :2p:

You can accelerate the process with fast road/track pads.

Redstuff for your car Lisa will be a waste of time, yellow if any from EBC, normally keep most in stock ;)

I would get some Ferodo DS2500,

seconded   They are awsome...but quite pricey! but brakes are about the most important thing on a car and def not worth scrimping on!

I fitted some local factor pads back in May they were made by Apec cost £30 inc vat not bad considering the size of them for the Brembo's

I do roughly 300 miles per week and they work :)

I would spend your money on something more productive ;)

maybe not, but then buying pads cause they match the colour of the calipers is not exactly the way to go either :D

How much are the standard toybota ones..???

second that. i'm using oem pads by Apec aswell, have to say i'm quite impressed for an oem pad.
save your money and just paint the backing plate with very high temperature paint if thats what you want.

Lol

£130 for a set of road pads

Leesa, I'd got for some OEM spec pads. I have some cheap ones in at the mo, they aren't as good as red stuff/2500... but unless you are doing track days for real fast road driving, you just don't need the expensive stuff IMO.

Used to be:

Green Stuff - Slighly better than OE

Red Stuff - Fast road/Track

Yellow Stuff - Competition.

It sounds like yellow have taken over red for fast road use. I used to rate them but then they were sh*te. I may well have just found out why!! Next pads will be yellow then. Then when I'm feeling flush/win the lottery new 4 pot calipers and larger discs.
