Why do the Batteries only last a short time?
I try to buy the usual Duracell but even they don't seem to last long nowadays and it's costing a fortune. :(

I never had this sort of thing when I was a kid where the Batteries seemed to go on forever. :)

Only yesterday I bought some Batts' from Poundland which were made by Hitachi ...I know I know...I thought I'd go for something different but these are even worse than the Panasonic ones...

If I'd kept all the Batteries over my lifetime there'd be a mini-mountain in me garden....I'm ashamed* :(

I've seen those Chargers about, always been put off after taking the explosive factor into consideration but they obviously work

I'll have to get one, what have I got to lose? ;)

Rechargeables are well worth it, nut make sure they are NiMH. They'll easily outlast Duracells.

You can recharge normal batteries but they are never as good as out the packet. They deteriorate with every charge a lot more than original rechargables.

I would not rely on recharging normal batteries for heavy duty purposes such as walkmans etc. They will be ok (ish) for remote controls etc.
