A mate of mine got pulled going across Ellingham at 115mph - it was an empty road (6am) and we all have rushes of blood to the head. He knows what a dumbass he is, after all he has an Astra Coupe.

After being polite to a more than fair officer he was told he would only be reported at 100 because he admitted to the policeman his clocked speed of 115.

Does he have any chance of keeping his license; he is being reported at the dreaded 100 mark - has a clean license (at moment  ) will it come down to the discretion of a Magistrate or is he buggered?

Seeing as he was polite to the 5-0 and the capped his speed at 100 conveniently like a mate of mine, he received 6 points and a 400 fine with no ban.

I think this was due to him admitting to it, like your mate.

My friend also stated in court that he commutes to work as buses aren't available in his area to fit around his shift pattern. This was taken into concideration for the verdict.

I wish your mate luck. Hopefully he will just get a hefty fine instead of the ban.

They are out in force at the mo, I've been out in my car three times in the past two weeks and passed at least two coppers each time.

He's looking at a potential disqual at that speed.

Ultimately the points/disqual situation will be dependant upon what is put before the Magistrates to aggravate or mitigate the offence.

The level of fine will be dependant upon his 'relevant weekly income'.

He does a 150 mile commute daily and earns good wedge so he is hoping for big points and equally big fine....he is gonna get :assbeat: just a case of damage limitation.

Either way, seeing him squirm is gonna keep me under three figures. If my car was a grey I sure would put the limiter on.....see why the Japs have them.

Thanks to (almost) all for your opinions and advice.

.....and yes I did try to get him to buy a teg, wrx, evo 4-6, s14/15 (the list goes on) with his 8k budget.

that is seriously lucky my sister's partner got clocked doing 120 and even with a lengthly list of mitigating circs abd a lawyer got off with a 30 day ban and a 400 n summin quid fine so your mate is damn lucky

www.pepipoo.com

join the forum for free and you can post bout any speeding conviction pending or the NIP from a speed camera.

I have be saved from a speeding fine from this site a couple of years ago now, so get refreshed as some 'loop' holes have shrunk.

Its a good site but be total honest as it is proper barristers and lawyers that share the love of speed but work on your side for free.
Better than any £30 book to 'how to get off speeding'

The area is too hot to be silly, seemed to have doubled their force at least in unmarked cars.
