the greddy kit would be no better at cooling the charge temps tho. also the afc can only add or trim fuel, you cant adjust timing, if you want a full map i would get a s-itc also |

Tinny pipes, leaking core's are all associated with cheap kits, you get whay you pay for. |

no offence spence, but you, and anyone else on here for that matter, wouldnt notice the difference between a greddy one and a 'cheaper' branded one.... the potential gain for a FMIC is not massive, and certainly the difference between a branded one and cheaper one, you would NEVER notice..(apart from the greddy one will have GREDDY on the front of it).. £245 for an apex one, fitting took a few hours by me, so sure a pro could do it in a couple of hours... so lets say £100, and then Read performance said that it would cost about £100 to set up both my AVCR and SAFC2 on the rollers.... Thats £445 total mate.... lot less than your quote...... just my opinion mate, but thats £300 odd that you could spend on something else... You decide mate - dont let anyone including me, sway your decision mate.. |

I wasnt trying to "Sway" him into spending that amount of money i was stating that the quote for the work which included a branded intercooler wasnt exessive. To put this in to perspective, a little while ago i was quoted £100+vat just for an oil change. |

no, i agree... its not an expensive quote.... but there are cheaper ways to do it, that REALLY wouldnt make much difference unless you are building a 500BHP plus beast... he obviously is concerned about cost, otherwise it wouldnt have been mentioned!!! |

I am not worried! i would like to have named brands such as Greddy and HKS for the fact i know in my own mind i will have a very relible car no matter what horses i have! i don't want to get to 400bhp and then have to replace the fmic as this would be an even further waste of money!!! Also are we all convinced i won't lose my air con if fitting a FMIC?? |

Hi I would suggest reviewing the japspeed kits on skylineowners.com cheap and easy to use - and none of the fan blade trimming is needed. I have the japspeed GTR front mount intercooler kit for the R33 GTST. Air con is still good and the only mods were as follows. Hold in off side front wheel arch for new pipe work (have pics and measurements which may help if needed). trimmed front bumper and bumper support/nudge bar. And my air conds still 100% efficient. Cheers Dave |
