You've got some great result with photomatix, I've tried using it but find it hard to get good results.

Any tips??

Trial and error really sometime's it can take me over half hour on 1 photo to get it how i want it, how are you trying to do it shoot in raw convert too 5 Jpegs with different EV value's? or do you shoot 5jpegs at the scene? both have there pro's and con's with Raw you can get noise but a sharper image with and also moving subject's arn't a problem, with 5 Jpegs taken at the scene you can get a smoother image with no noise but you can get sky movement and anything else that move's also always use a tripod and a good one at that I got mine with head for £200 and so pleased with the result's.

They're great photos B) though some of them look too 'rendered' if you know what I mean :)

It's the HDR tone mapping that makes it look that way.

Read all about it :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging
