Is there anyone on here that's in a postion to know if respraying a car in a matt finish is cheaper than having it shinny. Thanks Paul |

By all accounts Matt is great for show cars only but not great for everyday cars due to the fact the matt finish wont hold up to any rubbing or polishing, rubbing or forcefull wiping with fingers will leave a shiny spot that wont blend back in. |

Spoke to the tech guy at my place and basically it wont be cheaper as the basics of either matt or gloss are the same. You can have a matt clearcoat that will give you the same protection (UV,birdpoop,fingermarks etc) as gloss clearcoat and not be shiny simply because of the base resin that the matt clearcoat will use. |

Thanks for the info, I thought it wouldn't be any cheaper... Yes Chief I will pop down and see you soon, it's just I don't think my car will make it in over the bumps lol... unless I get bigger wheels or tyres with tread on them
