Basically i will connect 360 by component (already seen this on other tvs and set up correctly so i know that rocks) the rest will be by scart. juxst another quick question about contrast ratio the higher the better but looking through Which they've noted that some may have a high ratio but not look as good (although i don't know how they tested them) mainly Panasonics |

the contrast ratio is important but is not everything if you have a bad refresh rate and not good internal scaling then you can still get a poor looking picture. if i was you buying a tv now i would go to currys, comet etc look at the tvs they have upto say £700 right down the ones you like the look of astheticly then get back online and read up on the forum and check for a better price in places like digital direct. unfortunatly there are some real dogs of tvs out there some very expensive but with the type of demo you get in a store you would never be able to tell. i would still try to push to get a 1080p set if you can for the extra £75 you will know that you are getting the best out of your xbox 360 which apparently rocks in 1080p

just had a look in the back of this months homecinema choice (turned up this morning) in the section in the back where they list the 9 or 10 best tvs they have tested in a given group, for lcd's there are only 2 32" screens in the lcd group. one is an hitachi but is a grand the other is the sharp lc-32x20e. the sharps have been getting loads of awards for there lcd tv's for the last few years and this on has a very good spec. inc 3 hdmi, component in,pc,in, 2 scart sockets,1080p/24 (the highest you can get) and a game mode that boosts the response time i did a 30 second search and found this http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/store/dix_...TAH%20MARKETING you may find it cheaper over the bank holiday or even find a discount code to knock some more off. def the perfect tv for what you want with the gaming mode and the added bonus of being very future proof. si

i had a quick look for other lcds on the link and they have quite a few good ones by the looks of it. Is the Dixons link the same company that is owned by Currys? |

yeah they are the same companies. i have just found something you may be interested in http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7213298 hows about £100 cashback from sharp if you buy in a store not online before 31st august. you may need to check a few things but after like will a purchase from that store count etc but if i was you i would find a store get them to price match for you. buy the tv then get the extra hundred quid back also the 37" version of the same sharp tv is very highly regarded and is about £80 more at dixons so you could either get a hundred quid back for the 32 or get a slightly bigger tv for the same money and 30 quid back ![]() also look here for more info http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread....c+32x20e&page=8 |

Well i've just bought a 32" Toshiba (32XV505DB) for £500 from Currys (12 months interest free offer only open till Wednesday 27th Aug). Ran the 360 on it in the store think i may have sold a few more of them as they was a small crowd behind me  I did take your advive Cyman and decided to go 1080P as this was only about £20 than the nearest sizes and the contrast ratio is 30000:1 which was a lot higher then the similar TVs. Thanks peeps for the advice
