You can check the front of the compressor housing as it should have some ID marks on it. |

Its not a TD05 because a piece of 90degree samco hose has been used to turn it from FE to TE i expect it is what the guy says it is....a VF34. |

well its deffo an IHI turbo, because of the compressor housing is clamped on instead of circlipped. Also the exhaust housing doesnt look tiny, not that it matters. |

Ive also just noticed that the actuator arm is not straight and adjustable like it is in the TD series. |

Subaru used 2 makes of turbos in the numerous model specs as standard. Mitsubishi TD series turbo and IHI (Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries) series turbo. The markings should be on the shiney part of the turbo around the entrance to the turbo. |

No craig, that band in the middle holds the turbo core to the exhaust housing, i mean the alloy compressor housing is clamped on with little bolts and plates, the TD turbos have a big circlip holding it in place. So its Deffo an IHI turbo, just gotta find out which one. |

The exhaust clamp does have IHI stamped on it if you look at the first picture. You will need to look at the model number as everyone else is saying. |
