right the scooby i picked up yesterday (not mine) when accelerating has a ticking noise from the front area, if you imagine the noise a vw camper its like that, is it the turbo or is it something else any ideas? |

sounds like a blowing exhaust manifold gasket between one of the manifolds and the heads |

dan could it be bad welds on the equal headers as i'm sure they've been welded badly looking at them and think there blowing have the un equal ones to go on but just wanted to make sure its not the turbo. but its only there when actually driving the car? |

I take it the car has a mappable ECU if its running a VF34 mate... |

how on earth would i define the answer to that where do i look and what am i looking for? is it under the passenger footwell and what will it have different to standard one? |

is the car de catted??? when i got mine De catted i started to hear that noise.. the cat quietens it... it's very slight but it's from the turbo... i thought it was from the gasket from the down pipe but i replaced it with a new one but the exhaust is sealed fine.. just the noise my turbo makes! might be the same thing for you..? |

yeah de cat on there how exactly do i identify the turbo its new all right but unsure as to if its actually a vf34 or not, are these even any good? |

The VF34 is a great turbo but totally wrong if its running a stock ecu. |

wrong in what sense jay bit lost here, driving it back yesterday it was very laggy but once it got going it pulled extremely well, boosting a steady 0.7 bar going to bung a vid and some pics on in 5 mins please have a look |

yep, its ok as long as the boost is at a safe limit. |

im happy with the 282 itsmaking but cant wait for the new ecu as it will be around 320 ;0 but in my eyes there is nothing wrong with how it runs !!
