I'm planning what modifications I will be sorting out on the scoob..

first thing i've been advised is front mount IC... I'm thinking of going for a Autoban 88 however running this without the DV, will it cause problems with a TD04 turbo? If so will it be worth waiting untill I upgrade the turbo to a vf34 of something?... and then do them at the same time along with the re map??

good man George, i think the TD05 is the best to run without a DV but you would need a front entry one im sure Lewis will be round to correct me if im wrong

Lol, well it depends what model year it is ;)

The td04 will be fine with no DV though

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

George i fitted an autobahn88 fmic on my 95 wrx it was a specific 92-96 intercooler kit without a dv fitting outlet. ABM motors in weymouth tig welded an alloy tube into the intake side pipe for me to fit my dv back on,charged me £25 and did a spot on job.

As Ian will know the Ksports really are great brakes even with my rusty bolts...which according to Bren@Apex via an email today said the new bolts should be with me next week...

TBH George...depending on what power upgrades you go for dictates the intercooler....with yours being a later classic you could opt for an uprated top mount intercooler if 300-320bhp is your goal...with yours being a UK car it has a lower breaking limit than a jap import...

saying that theres a guy on surrey scoobys running 390+bhp on a standard bugeye engine and box...

2001 WRX Bugeye - 235bhp/230ftlb - SOLD - 2007

ah wow.. shesh thats intense... yeah to be honest from hearing lukes go down the road i would like to run it without a DV (luke could you take me for a quick spin next time you're at nationwide???).. an upmounted intercooler is something i was also considering Jay  however i get kinda nervous about engine heat effecting the IC on hot days but 300 ponies was something i was aiming for

Yeah stoppers were another big thing... brembos are probably the way i was thinking.. constantly scouting the web for some.. :ph43r:

Thanks Rob73 ill definatly bear that option in mind!..

Its no secret that the UK engine and box is not as strong as the import.

the engine is identical? all the high mileage engines i've ever heard of have been uk cars, not heard of a high mileage import.

oh well i got a UK Legacy... Closed deck block as standard :D
