When the speedo gets converted from kmh to mph does the mileage then go to miles or remain counting as kilometers?

On mine the mileage now reads miles but obviously you can't wind it back so you need to record when it was changed over to keep the mileage accurate. :)

Indeed Rob.... but in the way John mentioned there is no actual meachanical/electronic converter required hence cheaper the draw back is that if you got it de-restricted as in if you aded the converter after a certain speed you are over the clock and can no longer brag the speed you done down the pub  ...ofcourse if you have a gps navigation unit you could be sorted

Sorry, I'm lost? I can see that someone has crossed out the k so it only says MP.

So does that mean mine is clocking in miles?

Quite possibly.

Get sat nav or something to verify. :)

No Spence...most sat navs have built in on screen speedo (sometimes you have to enable it on screen like tomtom)

Its simple Spence... whatever the speedo is reading at the moment will "translate" into your mileage/kilometer reader... more important is if converted already its a case of knowing when.

Cool, i have receipt of purchase when the car came into the country 2 years ago! So all i need to do is work out what the mileage is from purchase to now will give me the mileage? Is that right?

Not sure if still has limiter! Is there a a simple way to find out? Without losing my licence?

That would depend if the conversion (I gather its already done??) was made at the point of entry into the contry.

As for the limiter... I dont think it will have baring on this as it can be removed by either of two ways.... getting an electronic/mechanichal converter or chipping the ecu as in my case that still reads in kph but "supposigly" just goes over clock (speedo stops reading and the car keeps going  )

I will take sat nav with me one day and drive to work! This should answer all questions!

I will wait for a dry day then give it beans somewhere!!!!

I need to come to a meet and have a chat!! Questions could get answered then!!!

HOLD ON

When they say that it is still limited to 112mph my ass. we have sold lots of cars with them still on. but the cars go way over 112mph one went to 136mph.

all of them have gone past 180km and the one doing 135mph was on the sat nav ;)

so your car will go past that...

mine was limited to 112mph it wouldn't go any faster in till i delimited it a delimiter only moves it from 112 ot 180 and it will clock in mph and clock miles but it can mess with the hicas cos the ecu thinks the cars moving slower

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)
