hi all can any one help with this my dad has a n reg 2.0 non turbo subaru wen its cold it starts ok and wen its hot its ok but if u drive it then turn it off and leave it 10 15min it wont start till u leave it to cool down more. there is no spark it just turns over and over. iv tryd coolant sens and a crank sens but it still dos it

Any idea what sort of temp the coolant is when the car has warmed up ;)

im not 100% but i seem to recall that coolant temp just before cooling fans engage is around 90deg c, or round about.
1995 wrx wagon the cleanest around!!!

What have you done! :lol:


It could be the Fuses, MAF sensor, ECU or a bad Earth for the stalling, i did think of vapour lock :nah: petrol pump overheating/wornout/Fuel Filter dirty/Injectors clogged/Spark plugs :dunno:

.....could be the coil pack has packed up or the Battery has got no oomph?

I havn't got a scoob so i'm guessing most of this :D

i had that thought in my head to about fuel evaporation and so on,it used to be a common problem i had on my old mg metro turbo untill i fitted briaded fuel lines.it would start/run wicked then after id destroyed a couple of rs turbos and switch it off it would be a frunt bum to start as fuel in the pipes in the engine bay would have evaporated cos it got very bloody hot under there.
1995 wrx wagon the cleanest around!!!
