Hi guys i changed the all vacume pipes yesterday for 5mm blue silicone pipes and now it over boosting really bad. i took it for a drive today and it normaly boost to 1bar but today it boosted up to 1.4bar then hit the fuel cut. i tried a few thing and nothing helped apart from... i bypassed the boost controller by connecting the pipe straight from the inlet to the actuator and it held a nice steady 0.5bar all the way and no over boosting at all. could it be the boost controller at fault or could it be something eles like the actuator messing around. i should add i removed the resenator box, so the pipe that goes from the bottem of the boost controller has nowhere to go but i did this 1 week ago and before i fitted the pipes it was fine running like that. Thanks David |

there is a restrictor in one or two of the vacuum pipes inline with the boost controller somewhere, its probably that. i'm pretty sure its the pipe on the bottom of the solenoid as thats the bleed pipe, so basically without the restriction its bleeding too much boost thus overboosting |

[GK-customfield]Lewis[customfield-GK] Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD ![]() EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost) | |

So fitting a dawes device from triton sort the problem out as it does away with that bleed pipe. David |

put the pipe back on the bottem of the boost controller and its all sorted, since changing the pipes for the silicone ones it had this problem, so when i drove it after putting the pipe back on i put it in second gear ands put my foot down and learly snapped my neck, it pulls so hard now. there must have been a leak in one of the pipes as its so powerfull now. Thanks for all the help David |
