yup, wired both the red and orange wires to the positive headlight wire and then the black wire to the nearest earth on the body. I ran the vacuum hose and wires into the engine bay through a grommit found just above the clutch pedal. Its quite easy to do when you know how

does it work when you start the engine without the headlights? as it sounds like it will only work when they are turned on orange is ment to go to the illumination so when the lights are on it lights up and the red to a 12v ignition supply so when the ignition is on it activates the gauge, although the stealth gauges dont really need the orange wire as they come on without it being connected.looks good though, same gauges i have

its like i said luke, red for the 12v power supply, orange for the illumination = gauge lights up when you turn the headlights on, goes dark when you turn the lights off. all gauges by autogauge are the same hence they give you 1 instruction sheet which covers every type of gauge available in that series. is yours not dark when the lights are turned off then? mine is connected as per the instruction and the orange wire isn't needed as its illuminated all the time until you turn off the ignition then its blank. |
