Soon i will be starting work on the new scooby i have at home and just wanted to know what are the best mods to get? i'm thinking of bigger tubby, which im guessing would be some kind of Vf jobby, bigger injectors (not sure what size), FMIC and then a remap as it has the ECUTEK ECU. Car already has full de-cat and is a 2000 reg UK car. Any suggestions welcome Oh another thing was i would like a turbo with an external wastegate, is this possible? as i would love the same sound that the P2 has that was posted on hear not long ago  |

And handling! Its great if you can go in a straight line fast but it counts more if you can corner faster and under control! Im keen to see this project thread when it gets started! Might also be worth doing a bit of cooling mods too Good luck

i would stick to the TD05 IMO, much cheaper to replace and more reliable than most IHI units. also will spool upto 340bhp. |

TD05 won't fit the 2000 reg will it? as it has the bent inlet rather than straight?

just convert it to a front entry. All well doing these engine mods but don't forget clutch/gearbox lifespan. suspension is also a consideration of getting the power to the road effectively http://bbs.scoobynet.com/suspension-12/658...tml#post7553842 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/general-technical...html?showfull=1 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/driving-dynamics-...tml#post7458115 |

yeah just get the 90 degree cut off and you can get a outlet welded on relatively easy. what power you looking for? 300bhp? |

ok for that sort of power the TD05 is perfect, you shouldnt need injectors either, but if you want them get some phase 2 STI yellow 440cc injectors. imo i would get a cheap second hand TD05 and get it converted will cost less than 200 quid all in i should imagine. |

flat4online can sometimesd have problems as it is ,as far as i know, literally a 1 man band, get it from Andy F (or Lateral performance who i think make them for him) Have a look on the link i posted previously. any turbo can have an external wastegate and ,imo, a bit of 'look at me' syndrome. I've been in a Skyline with an external wastegate and for the quick drive it was awesome but i bet it would get tiresome. |

external wastegates dont have to be noisier than stock paul only if you have a screamer pipe fitted |

yeah you can get it plumbed back into the exhaust. i wouldnt bother shelling out all that dosh though, the tdo5 holds boost very well

Luke if its only 300bhp your after then IMO theres no need for a TD05 of any sort...Injectors,VF28 which will give a quick spool up and a remap will get you want and will all come in for under a grand. |
