hi Guys i had my headers changed today from equal length to a stock set, but i have a few problems.

firstly it seems to lack quite a bit of power, i was expecting a bit but not a lot. is this normal.

secondly the car now goes in to full boost at about 3,750 rpm where as before it was around 2,500 rpm.

is this what i should expect from this o could thee be something els at play

Thanks David

Is the car decatted?
Mine with a decat the boost comes in at 3000rpm without it used to be about 3500rpm (can't remember exactly though)

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

Dave your car is an sti so they boost later in the rev range due to a higher reving engine and removing your headers will definately make a difference. Are you also running the stock ecu.

Being an early STI im pretty im sure the Rev limit is the same as a WRX 7k, it was only on the V3 onwards they had an 8K rev limit and 7.5k on the RA which was down to the cams they had fitted.

David are you sure the car made full boost at 2.5k seems bloody early in the rev range to me with a TD05.

hi jay it would be pulling hard at 2,500 but i supposed it would be 2,750 ish that it would be in full boost but when it would reach 4,500 - 5,000 there was another kick.

when i collected the car the guy told me that the heat sensor in the down pipe was very loose and was leaking a bit, would this cause it to slow the car a bit.

also before i changed the headers it would boost to 1 bar now it is 0.8 - 0.9, is this normal.

Thanks david
