after much thinkin, about how much i like my wagon but wish i had a gearbox to play with instead of the autobox it has,my choices were...
1)sell it and get a new one.....but then ive spent far to much time and money to get rid of a very tidy car i love so much. so thats a definate no!

2)leave it as it is. No!

3)go for it and convert to manual and have great satisfaction knowing that i did that to the car i want to keep untill it disapears to a pile of dust. So folks im on the look out for just a few bits apart from looking round breakers i would like to ask if anyone has any of the following for sale i would be more than interested providing the parts are in serviceable order:-

pedal box hydraulic clutch components 1995 flywheel gearbox and any mounts(would idealy like ra close ratio box as with that coupled to my auto diffs will give even greater accelaration) once work commences i will post a thraed of pics.

Rob either leave it auto or buy a manual IMO the conversion just isnt worth it alot of time and money...you cant mix and match diffs and gearbox's either mate other wise the front and rear wheels will be traveling at different speeds..

oh i know itll be a pain in the arse but not impossible although i have been informed from reserch through a gearbox specialist who claims my diffs will work on a manual. maybe i need to get second opinions or get my hands on a write off for the bits. but selling is out of the question as i spent far to many hours on that car and is 101% a together car for its age. but all suggestions and comments are gratefully appreciated.

i dont know if its the same for a scooby or not but stevey is using an auto diff on his 200, so would an auto's diff not work on robs scoob with a manual box, i would of thought it would be the same principal for the 2 cars in theory?
if you really want to do it rob then good luck with it, it may not seem worth it to most because of the cost but at the end of the day if you sold the car to buy a manual you would of lost the mods you have done, so maybe in the long run it will be cheaper to convert if you can get the parts cheap.

as said, good luck fella :)

The easy way is a donor car with all the bits

Apart from the gearbox the mountings prop clutch master and slave and the pedal box plus all the little bits and pieces not forgetting gearstick! do the scoob autos have a oil cooler too on the box?

Like Jay said its the cost also have you looked on scoobynet maybe someone has done it or knows the score.

A bit of research is in order

cheers andy, and the other thing is for the money id get for mine im pretty sure i wouldnt be able to replace with one as clean and tidy. with the time ive spent working on that car if you were to change that into ridiculous garage labour charges at say( on the cheap side) 40quid an hour and probably not done to my standards either it would probably total around 4500qiud plus the 3k worth of parts i put on there so rather than sell and end up possibly with a pile of shit im not happy with i may as well spend another grand on the conversion. its not such a difficult job just alot of work to get things right. afterall its only nuts and bolts not rocket science. the diffs should work they still work in the same way only im in charge of the gearchange.....

Rob....Are you thinking of trying to fit the centre diff from the auto box into a manual box?
