Had a litle 'play' with a '05 Honda NSX today. He struggled to keep up in a straight line :( I expected a lot more when he came storming up behind me

I'm sure it would have been happier on the twisties.

Dont forget its NA 3.2. So when used correctly its fantastic but its not staggeringly fast in a line. Apparently handles like a dream, still the ultimate jap car for me.

Doesn't actually surprise me TBH. I think they are only around 280 BHP and performance figures according to the book aren't much better than a stock RX7 and you know you can beat me easy enough as proven at RS4!

Still a great car though. B)

I knew they are much better handling cars than in a straight line, but I couldn't own a 'supercar' that can't keep up with mildly tuned rep mobiles

Well its the Aryton senna thing. Supposed to corner so well and of course it looks good and it reliable. But the later models have the 3.2 v6 around 290 ps and only 200-220 ft/lbs which is lower than most things. Its a fast car, but its not staggerijng and there is only so far you can push smallish displacement without a turbo.

I take it your S2000 is modded because unless its faster then 6.0 to 60mph, its not faster than even the slowest NSX. And the later NSXs with the new lights were capable of hitting 60 in 5 flat with the older ones around 5.5-5.8.
