The headers you have on the car now are aftermarket tubular and looking at them id say the are the cheap ones. Slip jointed tubular headers with a solid uppiped seem to be the better ones and a good quality set can cost anywhere from £300 to £600.

If your looking to get the burble back for little money fit a stock set.

I would go for the first set (unless you want stainless) but then i would ask who makes the stainless ones as there are a few dodgy ones out there

I wouldn't like to guess but if you get the standard ones ported i guess it wouldn't make any noticeable difference.
How are you geting 270 bhp (i.e remap decat etc)?

No idea i have only had the car for less than a week from a dealer.
From what i can see there are a few mods.

1. full ss exhaust system
2. Downpipe de cat.
3. Manifold
4. Blitz dump valve

i cant see anything els on the car it has. standard air filter, boost controller, so am not sure where the power is coming from.

i have a printout of the dyno showing 271 bhp from not so long ago.

Putting standard headers on it (possibly ported) i wouldn't expect you to lose much at all but you may gain a bit more pull through the gears.

the boost controller is giving you a little bit of power as i don't expect it's running boost (shoould be on the dyno printout perhaps)

Your car as standard is 250ps so with a full decat id say anything around the late 260s early 270's is about right.

the boost controller is standard, its the original one that is bolted to the inside of the drivers side wing.

the car boosts up to 1 bar

Wouldn't have thought so but once again Triton should be able to test them , i still think it's a sensor possibly playing up.

I saw this car for sale on pistonheads you obviously bought it from a trader. Can you not take it back??

The advert said he had taken it in on a part exchange so id guess the problem was there from the start....did you test drive the car prior to buying it,did you not detect the problem?

says nothing about running problems...was the problem there when you bought it or did it develop after?

:2p:

Try an ECU reset to start with: disconnect the battery for an hour or so then reconnect it and go for a drive, this may sort it.
Next start looking for air leaks, I usually use some fairy liquid in a spray bottle, hold the rev's at about 3000rpm and spray it on every pipe you can see.....bubbles = leak

Headers: I've got a set of standard headers in my garage you can try if you want or speak to Triton when your there as they have a mountian of them :D

Enjoy
I WON
