Hi guys.

i have been running a post on scoobynet but not really getting answers apart from "myblackwrx". :wallbang:

my problem is that on tick over and when driving at low revs its jumping and farting all over the show, as soon as i put my foot down it gets alot better but does not go completely. it really holds back and then clears, its the same feeling when you get the airfilter wet.

when it gets warmer it does get a bit better, i am going to try and make my way over to triton next week but wondering if its something simple i could fix.

i should add that the dump valve has been repossitioned and has quite a long pipe going to it, could this be part of it, as in taking to much to close it or leaking pressure.

video of my engine bay.

Thanks David

Probably an air leak somewhere...split vacuum pipe of even a cheap dump valve will do it.

when the car is in full boost it pulls like a train but there does feel like a slight stutter.

In all honesty you need to get it to a place that have diagnostic kit that they can plug in.

I spent ages and replaced loads of small bits on my car trying to cure a similar fault and 2 minutes on diagnostic kit found the problem. :)

my only problem with plugging it in is that there is no engine management light on,

will it still pick something up even if the light is off

May do example when i unplugged my Maf to test it (when the car was running) no CEL came on but on the 'Select Monitor' it showed up as a fault code although i doubt boost leaks would come up but since Triton do have the correct equipment you'll be taking it to the right place.

as you say it gets better as it gets warmer and the other symptoms you described. Could possibly be the lambda,i had simlar issues and thats what it was......they work in weird and wonderful ways.

i had a look at the lambda to day and it looks quite new,
the other thing it has now started doing is hold the rev between gear change around 2,500.

I know it has no choke but when you start up the revs are at around 1,500 there is no stuttering or jumping but as soon as it drops the revs once it gets warm it starts messing around, but then once it gets to full temp it gets abit better.

its a pain to explain, sorry if its hard to understand

Thanks david

Saw your post on Scoobynet and saw you mentioned the car doesnt sound like a Scooby should...thats down to your aftermarket headers being of equal length so hence no burble..

Yes normally but you do gain a bit of bhp and torque out of them.

Thats not qute right paul....you gain BHP but sacrifice torque thats come from Harvey Smith, the best bet is ported OE headers by all accounts their a better option.

The headers you have on your car are prone to splitting at the flexi joint on the up-pipe.

Its the un-equal length of the headers that gives the scooby its burble whether it by the OE or Tubular...the headers are no different for wrx or sti....ive read that the tubular headers makes it sound abit tinny.
