I think the weapon of choice for most drifters is the Nissan s13 and s14...some s13's can be bought pretty cheap.
1995 WRX - 318bhp/300ftlb - SOLD - 2005
2001 WRX Bugeye - 235bhp/230ftlb - SOLD - 2007
1996 WRX Type RA - 282bhp/285ftlb - SOLD - 2008
1997 STI Type RA - 350bhp/320ftlb - SOLD - 2009
1991 Nissan Pulsar GTiR - 286bhp/280ftlb - SOLD - 2009

99% sure that the 100nx is FWD.

As Jay said, cheap starter option would be a 200sx S13. :)

you may have seen our own driftingphoenix at pod this weekend in his ae86 corolla, i know him and alex (ae86 on here) were going up for some drifting this weekend. aslong as its cheap and rwd you should be able to drift it. speak to dnacars on here, he has a drift spec mx5 for sale ;)

In all fairness if you want to start to learn normally best to buy something for a couple hundred quid, weld the diff and enjoy.

I have a sierra iuse for drifting, its okay for it. But a welded diff is the way to go.

I hope i dont get in trouble for this but i good site to use for budget drifting is www.trampdrift.com.

I really would not use something turbo charged full stop for the first drift car.

Depends how serious you are really. If you just want something to mess about with; buy the cheapest RWD car you can find, weld the diff up, cut down the springs and pump the rear tyres up to 50psi :)

yeah if your starting out and doing it on the cheap, dont bother with an s14, youl be able to pick up a haggered old s13 that you wont mind bashing into a tyre wall. Only modification you would need is an LSD to start with otherwise youl be going nowhere.

Problem with LSD's is finding one that is still strong, at least with a welded you know its gonna step out.

If you can find a strong lsd then go for that.

This all depends on how much money you have and how far you wanna go with it all.

driftingpheonix did pretty dam good in his vauxhall chevells, that was a cheap rwd car that cost him about £100 iirc, and it was something stupid like a 1960 car lol.

Like andy said an old vauxhall, bmw, ford sierra, if your lucky a cheap s13 but it will be fooked.

There is all sorts out there its just finding it, esp now as drifting has taken off well.

Plus if you did go for a sierra no less then a 2litre otherwise you will be dissappointed
