![]() ![]() Sadly it's the blue one in the background...yes the Rover. The Legacy belongs to my mother-in-law who saw it in the Echo, decided she liked it and went out and bought it! I don't know much about it other than it's a 2.5 "Grand Wagon". It still has all the Jap radio and sat nav inside. I'll try and convince her to let me bring it along to a meet...I don't recall anyone else in DJCC owning one. I always fancied a Legacy GTB or BSK B4 and was gutted when she beat me to owning one.In the unlikely event that anyone is interested in my car...the Rover (formerly owned by my mother-in-law) is automatic (!) and a 2.0 turbo diesel (de-tuned BMW 3/5 series lump). There's a ECU upgrade I could buy for £300 to take the car up to 160bhp from 116, but as the car handles like a boat around corners I'm not sure I'll do that. The only addition I've made to it so far is an AFC Bournemouth mini-kit in the back window. I am, however, on the look out for a nice tartan rug and trilby hat to put on the rear shelf, a decent pipe and some nice comfy slippers...

I actually like the 75's Rover were starting to get there when it all went wrong and they folded I MOT'd Jay's friends one and it was mint all up together One bit of advice if the radiator goes sell the car it is almost suicide inducing to change

Up until I'd sat in this car I'd never driven an auto before (in 16 years of driving). I drive from Lymington to Eastleigh for work and it's so much easier driving this car than a manual on the M27/M3. Just whacked £50 of diesel in it and it'll be interesting to see how many miles to the gallon I get. Goes quite well for a big lump of car. Handling is truly shocking though, but then I suppose this car isn't designed to go fast round corners. Someone on a Rover website referred to his 75 as a "gentlemans chariot" and I'll have to adjust my driving style I suppose. Rear visibility is also pretty poor - rear bumper has battle scars both sides. I haven't had to do a reverse parallel park in it yet - that'll be fun. ![]() If the radiator or anything goes I'll get a man in to do it. I'm useless at stuff like that! It'll do me for a year or so I guess whilst I (attempt to) save up for something decent. I didn't pay a lot for it. |

not a bad car, obviously its pointless modifying it, at all. Theres nothing wrong with modifying a rover, i know a few rovers that would put most people on this forum to shame, but just modify that rover lol. i think you need to come to terms with the fact that youv bought a barge, its only point is to get you from point to point in comfort, not much else so it just easier not to expect anything else lol. Its very good at what it does though, been in one before, pretty lush. |
