Just got back from Triton...The car made 282.5 at only 0.9bar of boost,it didnt make the 1.1bar its mapped for... But im happy with the result knowing that with the boost sorted it should be in around 300bhp ![]()

Its a good figure Jay. One thing i noticed looking at your graph and general subaru driving is that max torque comes in pretty late. Once there tho has a hell of a kick. |

That'll be the crappy stock boost control then, get an uprated actuator and boost controller then you'll be sorted ![]() When are you getting a front mount Jay? i think thats how mine got its 303.5bhp @1bar! |

Just to compare Had my 98 Sti on the rollers in September Jay Peak boost was at just under 4000 also It all starts to happen at 3000 on mine 105 BHP at 3200 (Torque 165ish) but 210 BHP at 4150 (Torque 265ish) they reckoned the lightened flywheel was responsible for the steep curve and sore neck.... Out of interest it was showing 211.4BHP at the wheels (est 273.5 at the crank) |

Looking at the printout said 3 gear if so there is part of the problem, slow boost responce due to not loading up properly on the rollers. 3rd on the RA box is just too short

Jay, just saw this thread after the email last night. As mentioned in my reply, make sure the actuator is tight. When you remove the actuator from the wastegate pin, rest it back on the pin and it shouldn't just drop on. It should line up about 1/3 to 1/2 accross the pin, therefore requiring you to tug on the rod slightly to get it to drop on. if this is set up right there's nowt wrong with the standard boost control. also clean out the boost hose from the bottom of the solenoid as this has a restictor in it that can get blocked see Boost Solenoid Plumbing I guess you havn't got a boost gauge or you would of spotted the 0.9bar before taking it to Triton. Regarding the fueling, send me the AFR plot if you have one. The car will run a little richer on the rollers due to the simulated airflow, which is why it is better to map on the road in real world circumstance. Plus the off-shelf maps are a little richer then would be custom mapped, as they have to take into account a multitude of different airfilters. Although they are no richer then a standard ECU map. |

Thanks for the reply Scott..heres the AFR plot..![]() What do you think about Mike's comment about the ratios on the RA and how 4th would of been a better option to run it in? |

4th is always better on the rollers, but these Dyno Dynamics guys always seem to use 3rd unless it's a 6-speeder. Boost also peaks later in the lower gears IIRC on mine it's about 200rpm later per gear (i.e 3400rpm in 5th, 3600rpm in 4th, 3800rpm in 3rd) AFR is a little rich as wouldn't expect it to go much below 10.5AFR on the rollers. Getting more boost out of it should lean it out a bit. It will also run leaner in the higher gears. Are you running an uprated pump and/or reg. My own car runs 11.3AFR out on the road, but this reads about 10.5AFR on Surrey Rolling Road, in 3rd gear. I'd rather it that way then the other...... Concentrate on getting the boost up to around 1.1bar (get yourself a £20 boost gauge), and don't worry about the fueling as long as your happy how it drives. |

Doesn't start lean at all. Richens up in line with the boost increase. The rise in the AFR is at 4800 is due to the peak torque figure and is quite often seen. I normally smooth this out a bit when live mapping and try and run 11.3-11.5AFR out on the road (rollers always read rich). |
