I just had a new pioneer avh 5700 headunit fitted in my evo 4. As I drove out of the audio shop grounds, I found that the speedo was not working. The revcounter needle is working fine, yet the speedo is not working at all! I took it back to them, and Ive been told that it will need a diagnostic test to see what the problem is. It has been booked into a main mitsubishi dealer for tomorow. The audio company I used has a very good reputation and comes well recommended by friends. If anyone has experienced something similar, or has any ideas what may have caused it please help! THANKS |

If the speedo is electronic (ie not cable driven from the gearbox) then it could just be the connector behind the clocks, or a fuse. Maybe a ground issue with the new stereo ? Does everything else work (wipers / windows / mirrors etc) ? |

The speedo is all sorted out now. The car went into Poole mitsubishi and they said that its a common intermittent fault. They run a full diagnostics test anyway, and found nothing wrong. Its working fine now though. And yes, that was my Evo at Matchams. On the Pistoncruisers stand. I was there marshalling
