We have had a set of KAD 6pots on the front of the VR4 for a few years with no issues. They weren't cheap, but Heath has never had any problems with them on track. They need to be hot to work at their best, but I manage ok with them on the road too.

What else do you want to know??

Cheers.

Jane

They started off making racing callipers for the old minis IIRC.

They've been around forever, and seem very good. They look ace too ;)

I can't remember ever reading anything bad about them.

Cheers peeps,

Been offered a set for a pretty good price and knew nothing about them! Had a look on the website and found the usual info. but very little on forums, nothing bad which was good, well apart from price which was why i've never really looked into them!! maybe i will now.

Everywhere seems to be AP this AP that! but have heard they've gone down quality a bit recently!

The only thing I would check when buying callipers is that they are fully dust sealed, unless you want to take them all apart once a year and service them ;)

the kad brakes are a good choice kev  ive had then before ,no probs  the aps didi have some quality issues last year, due to one of the steel works closed,so putting the other one under a lot of pressure. But they have now got that sorted

They are fully dust sealed; don't really want to do that even if my mileage isn’t great these days!!

Lee - I heard that Brembo now own AP? And the KAD caliper I’m looking at no longer has direct competition from them as the said caliper is no longer available in big brake kits; the CP5555 series I believe!!! Have you heard anything along these lines...... also heard that the general quality and spec had dropped since this acquisition due to Brembo cutting corners, but then again I did hear that from another competitor!

yer ,i had heard that too,but i have to honest, the aps that ive just put n the evo are top notch  one thing i have found modding cars over the years is that the competitors (it be brakes, cams ,cars, ect) is that one will be the top dog tody and come tomorrow it will be some one else.I would say go with what you want

I still love the AP's and would have gone for them hands down, the reviews they get are still top notch and as soon as you mention "Big Brakes" the first name to crop up is always AP.

I'm still un-decided, as the KAD's are a good deal and they are that little bit different - Both are going to be an improvement and i doubt i would even know the difference between the two... decisions decisions :(

Currently the KAD's are on top, purely for looks - not having red calipers! and i don't like the yellow 'AP' either; picky I know

Are they the same as Jays K Sport ones?

Just thinking that they share components with different lettering

Get the KADs and spend the money you save on braided hoses and decent pads ;)

Manny - the K-Sport ones were developed with K-Sport and Bren from Apex Performance from scratch. They are not dust sealed, but are bloody good track stoppers :D

Bren spent thousands on track days and research to get them just right...

I still prefer the KADs though.

Totally different kettle of fish - They might look similar, but i think that is where it ends! I'm going for 6 pots and Jay has monster 8 pots!!

Already have the braided hoses and uprated pads are part of the kit - so the extra cash goes straight into my wallet........... and then out again and into the fuel tank!!!
