What bike is it ?

eg 2 stroke / 4 stroke etc.

Petrol doesn't go 'stale' as such, but it's octane level can drop and it can cause a varnish to build up on various components.

You could try fresh fuel, or something like FORTE injector cleaner to clean the entire fuel system.

if i was you it sounds like a blocked jet try removing the air filter so you can get your hand over the carb intake start it up rev it up to about 3000 to 4000 rpm and then just put your hand over the carb intake the suction this will cause will remove any obstructions there is you only need to do it for a second or two or there is a good man in poole that does bikes from home he comes highly recommended his name is derek 01202676576

petrol does go stale, you try driving a car on very old fuel!

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

I think there were quite a few different models made of these 2 stroke bikes. 1988 onwards?

the other thing it could be is that the Gauze filter in the petrol tap can get pretty cloged up with paint Paint chips, bits of Dust and also Rust. Turn the Tap off and unscrew the little cap clockwse, i think there made of alloy some are plastic, the Gauze filter is in there.

Those 2-strokes can be a pain, at least you know what part you need :)

check out the link below, these people are sole spares provider for Mikuni Carbs, they even supply new ones :)

That's not bad for the money :) The Needle should come with the tiny metal 'C' clip that goes in the slots, place this on the middle slot, that means it's on factory setting.
If by some chance the 'C' Clip fails to turn up you can have one that i found in the Garage. :)
If you've Oiled the cable/checked for snagging at the Throttle and there's no change in the tickover it'll mean you'll have to get that Jet out (the one that's stuck) as that will be the cause.

I couldn't believe the old HT Cap also had something to add too

Nearly there Jimbob ;)
